    Default rhinestoning everything.

So... I've decided I'm going to cover most of my stripper outfits in rhinestones, because everything looks better sparkley. I would use a bedazzler but I don't like the metal backs against my skin.

What are the best and most sparkley crystal/rhinestones to get and what is the best glue to get for fabric?

Aleen's makes this super hardcore ultimate insane fabric glue that is like fabric superglue. I use it on my pointe shoes when I have to wear them on concrete and/or brick and the shit seriously holds up even to full body weight pressure against sidewalk and protects the satin. It can definitely hold your rhinestones on....HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. You can get it at any fabric shop.

I second the kandi kane recommendation. I just got one and it's good times. I got assloads of cheap rhinestones off ebay and am happily blinging out everything in sight.

I use E600 glue and it has been almost a year, none have fallen off yet. I will try the one suggested above when my E600 runs out.

Anyone know a glue to use for metal? I have some huge bamboo earrings and I want to put crystals all over it so I need one that will bond those together. The simple rhinestone hoops just don't sparkle enough for me anymore.

Gluing metal to metal...I'd get a sauldering iron and a roll of saulder wire. I'm not sure there's a really hardcore glue out there for bonding metal and I find it far easier and faster just to melt it. Beware though, if you intend to saulder anything, it's easiest if the metals involved are the same. Due to the differences in melting temperatures of various metals, doing two different ones can be difficult.

Yes! The Kandi Kane is great! I make all my outfits sparkle all the way down to the g-strings.

I just E6000'd a bunch of my work gear. It's machine washable and very good. I use sequins though because I prefer shiny things that lay as flat as possible against the fabric.

so easy too! you just need tweezers and something good on tv to watch.

E6000 should work for metal on metal as well. you could try sodering but a bunch of the cheap metals don't soder very well.

Oh yeah Gorilla glue is something else- I have used it before but it swells when it dries, so I'm afraid my hoops will look like a sparkly gray blob. Maybe I will try a teeny tiny bit and see how it works.

Cool I didn't realize I could use that for metal also...I'm looking forward to doing it though I plan on not stopping until it's done so I hope it won't take too long.

PV, if it's metal to metal, just use superglue, with a bit of the aerosol stuff that they use to dry nail polish. I assemble and paint metal mini figs, and that stuff is like welding the pieces together.

You put the glue on one piece, and spray the other piece, and it will hold forever.

^^I will try that method. For the earrings I'm trying to stone I'm going to start with really small ones so even the tweezer will be tough. Do you end up having to wipe the crayons off the stones Guenevere?

I've never even used a bedazzler, but thanks for the heads up. I love stoning my outfits, but Swarovski doesn't come cheap, and I'm too much of a sparkle snob to use plastic rhinestones.

Anyone use Preciosa crystals which I've read is second best after Swarovski?

Google Louboutin Strass DIY. There are some amazing shoes! I don't have Louboutins and I haven't done it but I am drooling over the shoes I see. I don't think it would look good on any style of shoes. It has to be the right style. It looks a bit time consuming but it's so beautiful. There are also some threads on it on the purseforum.

I can't imagine very many styles not looking good with some sparkle.

Miss1DancyPants, I will be happy to help... have you decided if you want to use mainly one size crystals or a number of different sizes like Louboutin does?

Do you have a style of shoe in mind? That will help.

I've ordered my crystals for my shoes, can't wait to get started. Im narrowing it down between two styles. I need to have them done before I go back to work.

I have both gemtac and e6000. Because the shoes aren't leather, in most cases e6000 will bond better. Gemtac is better for fabric and porous materials. E6000 is the business, it is just harder to work with because it is thick and smells. You will need ventilation or you'll get light headed. Unless you are banging your shoes on the stage against the stones, they should not fall off like that. When I wanted to attempt this years ago, everyone told me it will look so silly and I would leave a trail of crystals. Not so at all. Sometimes we should just do what we feel! Lol

I have been wanting to do a pair of shoes but idk where to get swarovski crystals for cheap. I've tried eBay but I keep seeing sellers that sell small quantities. Does anybody know of a specific seller that has good prices?

I have these heels, by pleaser but mine are clear. Anyways, the sparklys are half gone and I've worn them but a hanful of times. When I bought them they even came with a small baggy with extra sparklys but fuck it.
