    Default Clothing security tag problem

I bought a blouse the other day. I tried it on in the shop so I knew that I liked it and would not have to take it back so I threw the reciept away. I went to wear it last night and the bloody security tag's still attached! I don't have the receipt and I'm scared if I take it back they'll think I'm shoplifter, any ideas on how I can get it off?

Wow someone just posted something similar this morning.

Anyway, same thing happened to me. Get a screwdriver and slip it between. Twist. It'll pop off to the next rung of security (there's a few levels in the tag) but you'll be able to get a hammerclaw in there. Wear a heavy boot and use your foot as leverage to pry it off using the hammerclaw. Done.

Wire cutters only work after you've popped the tag further back.

Some of those things have ink in them. I would take it back, who cares what they think? if you didn't steal it, you shouldn't worry about that.

Depends on the type of tag. There are lots of videos on youtube.

Did you pay with a card? If so, then use your statement at proof. But then strippers pay cash so that probably doesn't help.
If you can tell them the day and approximate time you bought it they should have a record in their system that one was sold then.
You'd have to be one ballsy shoplifter to try taking it back to get the tag off.

Do you still have the bag? If so, just walk right in with the bag and ask to take it off.

Oooh, you know I used to work at a store in highschool, some of the tags had ink and would splatter and ruin the clothes, and some were hard to get apart. We had the actual tool to get them off and sometimes they damn near took my eye out.

If I were you I would call the store in advance, explain what happened, ask for a manager and set up a time to go in and get it removed. A shoplifter wouldn't do that. Don't worry.

If it has ink in it, freeze it and then hammer it off.

You guys are scaring me with talk of ink. I think I'm gonna call up the store and explain the situation, its pretty obvious I'm not a shoplifter, the top cost about £7 in the sale. If they make a fuss I'll be all outraged and ask to speak to the maganger.
