    Default Subfascial Implant Placement

One of my best girlfriends is getting her chest done for the first time and she opted for subfascial breast implants (gummi)

Does anyone here know anything about that particular placement and why it is said to be superior or anything about doctor Christian Drehsen out of the tampa/clearwater area?

I am thinking about redoing mine with her because she is really scared. I went for a consult after she did and I talked to the doc and he seems to think I could benefit from it because i have had a little shifting with my under the muscle implants. The change is nothing I really noticed, I just wanted to replace my saline's for silicone.

I know a little bit about it, but he is charging me 11.5 k so I have my doubts.

yes, like that. In the soft part of the muscle is how it was explained to me.

I just googled it and it said that with subfascial they dont remove the muscle from the ribcage so it's less painful.

But if you have already had under the muscle, then the pocket has already been created for u so I would have thought u could just get them replaced with co-gels in the same pocket. If there has been some movement (which is prob normal) then u could get a slightly larger implant.

I dunno if I would opt for that when u already have had the pocket made. Seems weird.

Yea, i had the same questions to the doctor. He told me that the implants have shifted a bit (not horribly) and are now not nearly as close together.
Replacing with a new implant in the same pocket will allow the shifting again.
I guess with the subfascial placement, it makes it harder to shift. He also mentioned that i have a good bit of muscle tone and that that is part of the reason the implant shifted.

Just to fix the scar tissue from the first pocket under the muscle. (kind of reconstructive) It is 3k alone.

    wow that's expensive.

well of course a surgeon will know what he is talking about but get a second opinion anyway.

unfortunately i dont know much about that placement. i had unders. but i do recommend co-gels, they are so soft and real looking.

It sounds good. I researched it when I was considering a BA and in an old thread I came across a SWer who has it done. I can't remember who, but maybe she'll see this thread.

It is where they place the implant under the very thin layer of tissue that covers the muscle, sort of like peeling up the skin of the muscle, that's how I pictured it. And I also read online that it is a hard procedure to do, not all docs offer it, and while they're operating, there is the possibility that the fascial layer will break or tear of something and I guess that can be a problem.

It might be why it's expensive, cause not all docs do it.
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily

i am wondering if the results warrent the price?

I have never heard of charging 3k alone for closing up the pocket from a previous surgery plus charging the regular surgeons fee.
