Default X Pole?! In home pole

OK everyone, forgive me if this is a repeat, but i DID try to search so here goes

I have been reading about those of you with in home poles and cannot find any mention of anyone with an X pole

I have heard wonderful things about them and the girls on youtube swear by theirs.

I would love to get a removable, yet STURDY and stable pole for home to help my fitness goals, to practice on, and if anything just to have fun. I just need to make sure it won't ruin my ceiling or something

Does anyone here have one? I'm 5'8, 155 lbs and fairly muscley, so I'm not sure it'll hold my chunky butt haha, however i'd love to get it still!

Any tips or DIFFERENT pole recommendations? THANKS!

I rep Xpoles. I love them. In fact, I don't think I would spend my $ on any other pole. They are VERY sturdy and will not ruin your ceiling. Unlike some of the poles on the market, you do not have to screw anything to your ceiling or floor. It is purely pressure mounted. I can do every trick I know on these poles without worry! My husband has even swung around on them to test the strength (and hes not small ). They are tested for 250lbs so your little 155 lb butt will do just fine!

Check out my site for info and to order.

platinum stages superpole is pretty much exactly the same as xpole....pressure mounted... you can get them multipiece or one piece, removable, spinning or static, brass or stainless.

What is the difference between xpole and ps superpole, because I see no difference at all except for slight cosmetic differences in the top plate.

The difference between the poles is quite great actually.

-pole material is different...solid stainless versus titanium or chrome coated. (brass available in PS 1 piece)
-base material is different...ps uses polimer instead of metal, safer, lighter and more durable.
-ps does not require set up or release tools, x you need to lock your pieces
-ps poles do not bow with overtightening.
-ps will REPLACE parts no questions asked.
-ps requires 1 joist in the ceiling (base size), x suggests 2.

I am a PS rep, yes...but I have also used X and have dealt with them too.

I have had them side by side...and there is a significant difference.

It really is personal choice. I choose PS and have retailed them for over 5 years now....NEVER an issue!

? Doesn't it have a rubber bottom to protect the floor? What makes it safer or more durable?
-ps does not require set up or release tools, x you need to lock your pieces
? not sure what you mean by locking?
-ps poles do not bow with overtightening.
    ?bow?
-ps will REPLACE parts no questions asked.
!much easier for them because they make the parts in the US from what I have heard. XPole does replace an entire package if something is defective. I know because I have had to send them from my stock.
-ps requires 1 joist in the ceiling (base size), x suggests 2.
!Xpole is based on UK measurements that do not pertain to US measurements. Meaning support beams are much closer in the UK then they are in the US. It's not necessary for the two.

    It really is personal choice.
I agree. I prefer XPole because I like working with the company. I am intrigued by some of my students that said they walked into PS and watched the pole they purchase being made! I think that would be cool!

Yes it has a rubber footing on the base..I was referring to the material the actual ceiling and floor plate are made of.

? not sure what you mean by locking?
Xpoles must have the "x" lined up to ensure the rods do not spin apart during swings. I have a few students with Xpoles, and have watched them come undone during multidirectional swings.

    ?bow?
Yes, bow. I have had 2 studios switch to PS poles because one shipment of X thy ordered...every pole bowed when it was set up. The analysis on the pole determined that the threaded portion of the rods are not deep enough, nor thick enough to sustain mount pressure and will bow if overtightened.

X now states their products are made in the US, or so I was told by Kimora. PS will replace defective parts or replace the entire pole if needed. Xpole will tell their customer that it is not a warranty issue. One of the clubs we host classes at has tried to have defective parts replaced only to be told that it was the installers fault for the defect. Girls in the UK even have problems getting parts replaced or issues dealt with.

I have never dealt with X in the US, so things may be different...but it is still the same company.

This is what I love about options. I love working with PS, I am in Canada, and never have issues with out of country shipping...my stuff comes in 7-9 days guaranteed!

There are some of my students that swear by X as well. X and PS are both well known products, and gives the consumers options!

OH...and Nakita, did you get the IPC invite I sent you??

Kimora LIES!!! I really like her, but she shouldn't be telling people that. The poles are made in China.

I believe that, only because it usually is

Their poles are shipped from China too. It doesn't matter where in the world you are, Xpoles are made in China. They don't even make replacement parts. All poles are shipped to UK, AU & US in the same boxes the consumer gets them in. That is just how the company works. Like I said, that is the big advantage of PS. They make their parts, so they can replace 1 simple piece. XPole doesn't have that option, they just ship a whole new pole.

I have never dealt with X in the US, so things may be different...but it is still the same company.

Kind of, but not really. It's honestly just the same product, not the same company.

Ahhh...this is making more sense now....Clive always stated they were made in the UK! Would never have guessed China!!! Considering they wont ship there!

So X is not really X! It is a pre-manufactured item from China that is sold by X!

Made in China...that phrase has always scared me!! :0

I am actually glad this thread went the way it did...I like being informed!

I have the X-Pole and really like it.

I got it as more of a novelty item as I don't have the space to do anything on it in my tiny NYC apartment. But I've had a guy friend just jump on it from nowhere and it's never budged or damaged my floor or ceiling. (hardwood floors)

It's pretty easy for me to take up and down as well, which is important to me.

I am dying to get a pole (mostly as a gift for my husband). It seems the Platinum Stages Superpole might be the right way to go for me.

I am experienced on a pole--- not that I can do crazy tricks (yet!)-
but my ceilings are high- probably 10 feet or more. Is this going to pose a problem?

    Thanks...

Which is why when they are "out of stock" you can only "pre-order" once the poles are on the boat! And why there is only 1 delivery per month (ish).
Did you notice that that the original X-Stage pictures were IN the factory in China? And Symonsal danced on the stage in the competition last year in china!

Still can't understand why X-pole Australia have a completely different set of poles to us!

They also have a 42mm! And their titanium poles are silver colour (duller than the chrome though)

    nychaos99......no problems!

Platinum Stages has an optional 24" extension available that will safely take the pole to 11 feet.

    Standard...they fit a ceiling 7.5' - 9.25'.

Sweet. I am going to measure my ceiling tonight and order one.

I hope they will mail it discreetly, it's a gift for my husband and he's certainly not stupid when it comes to this sort of stuff. He'll put 2 and 2 together if he see's Platinum Stages on the box! ha!

It's a gift for us to share, you know....

    Thanks for the info Alenadowns!
