    Default bites?

so after spending a full day at the marina on a boat and riding wave runners I came back home... showered... and have been itching almost every part of my body for the past 2 days. My friend said it must've been something in the water because she is itching too. I try not to scratch but it's almost unbearable... after looking at the damage I've done I noticed what looks like mosquito bites here and there on my tummy... back... legs... and one on my butt.
is there anything I can do to make these "bites" disappear? I'm too self conscious now to work but I really need to go make money... do you think if I go in I'll end up grossing the customers out?

under the club lights they honestly might not see it. you can cover your bites with soap or baking soda w/ water and let it dry on your bites. i believe the base helps to suck out the yuckies in your bites. i used to sleep with the soap all over me and wake up with much smaller bites.

I practically live on a boat in the summer.
If they are mosquito bites, Heatherette is right, a paste of baking soda and water will dry them up.
Also, there are lots of icky germs and bugs in the water. Everytime I go out on the lake (especially inland lakes) I shower with a tea tree oil soap right when I get home, and put pure tea tree oil on any suspicious looking bumps or red spots. Its a natural disenfectant.
My friend missed work for two weeks after our last outdoor adventure.
You'd be surprised how many germs, fungi, and bugs follow you home

There are a lot of biting water bugs as well, or other gross stuffs that could cause a similar reaction. Treat with that pink lotion stuff or what other girls mention above. And tea tree is a god send...for sooo many things. Good luck!

Have you tried hydrocortizone cream? I think that would help a lot.

Oh mosquitoes have been out in FORCE here this year. I hardly EVER get bit but this year I have bites constantly. I walked out to get the mail and came back with FIVE bites on my feet. Ugh. Stupid bugs.

Calamine lotion when you arent working helps. They could be sand fleas or sea lice. They actually make a repellent specifically for them for next time...you can get it at Walgreens and places like that.

Eurgh.... I didn't know there was such a thing!

I don't know what kind of bites they are, but hydrocortisone cream will stop the itch. I think they even have a hydrocortisone lotion for large ares of the body, although I haven't tried it.

Good luck getting rid of the itchiness, summer is a blast for us, and the bugs think so too, it's an all you can eat buffet for them

Sea lice are nasty. They are little, teeny jellyfish that imbed in the skin, and can be especially painful in areas where the seams of a swimsuit would rub...like around the waistband, legs, or neck straps.

And yes, you can get stuff to treat it at Walgreens.

ew. yuck... I wanted to go tubing but now I'm having seconds thoughts about getting back into this fl water.
I don't know if it was sea lice... I took a look at that first link and my bites don't really look like that. It literally looks like mosquito bites... not really bunched together. just several here and there on different parts of my body.
I did go to walgreens and got this creme for itching... seems to be helping... the ones on the back of my leg are still there... but the ones on my stomach seem to be fading.

Don't scratch them, it'll make them worse. Some hydrocortisone cream might help relieve some of the itching and jumpstart the healing process.
