I use whey protein almost daily and it helps me stay slim. It might not make you lose weight by itself, but likely will as part of a healthy overall diet. Smoothies are great provided you don't add sugar. You can track your cals, fat, protein, carbs, etc. on http://www.fitday.com if you're worried about the sum game of your diet.

I use it with lots of things. As you said, it's great for smoothies. I also use it as a base for low-carb and flour-free pancakes. Add some berries, an egg, flaxseed, soluble flower, or cinnamon. Various extracts can also add flavor to vanilla protein powder. In short, it's lots of fun to experiment with the stuff, as there are many delicious combinations.

    Enjoy

Whey protein is a great way to get protein if you don't actually feel like eating, and just want something light. I love chocolate protein mixed with frozen berries, or sometimes 1/2 of a banana.
Weigh protein will help u to lose weight if you are working out with it. This is because protein helps you build more muscle, and the more muscle you have the more calories you burn, even while not doing anything.

Whey doesn't burn calories. It helps repair muscles after a workout and gives needed amino acids as well. Choose one that's low calorie and low in sugar. Also consider the amount of calories in your whey shake you want to make. Monitor those added calories in your daily calorie consumption.

Exercise always helps with loosing weight. Doing 4-5 days of cardio at 30min time well melt off fat. The more calories you burn the more fat you will lose. There are 3500 calories in a pound of fat.

No! I tried it. I can make a better smoothie at home with milk, chocolate protein powder and a banana.

to the OP. Whey protein is low in calories...so as far as being worried about GAINING weight don't worry about it. I use it in the am's if I need something quick or don't feel like eating.
A really good one is 8 oz. water, 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla), 1 C raw baby spinach, and 1/2 C strawberries. Spinach in the blender doesn't taste like anything, but the strawberry is REALLY strong! Put it all in the blender and YUM!
Using whey too much can cause an upset stomach. So I wouldn't depend on it all the time. 1 or 2 shakes a day is plenty.
    I'm not who I say I am.

    Thanx everyone!
Yea with my healthy eating, funnily enough i havent really been hungry and my snacking between meals is practically non existant as im not even thinkin about food. So it would b nice to have a shake when im not hungry enough for dinner or something.
    My diet is usually;
(breakfast)swiss muesli with a handful of seed and nut mix with small cup of semi skimmed milk. glass of pure orange juice
(mid morning)maybe a banana if im hungry
(lunch) either chicken breast with paprika with mixed salad and small dash of balsamic vinegar or open turkey sandwich with tomatoes on wholegrain bread, low fat yoghurt with fruit compote
(dinner) either chicken breast with steamed vegetables(or brown rice) or lean beef and vegetable stir fry with honey
I drink water all throughout the day, usually if im peckish in the evening( i was only on my first day) i will have a bowl of strawberries or some grapes.

Does that sound like a good diet or is there anything i need to add/cut out?

I like whey protein smoothies.. as a meal replacement, though. I use wheybolic- it's a gnc brand- but it's at 270 calories per 3 scoops, and .. really, using one or two scoops when you're blending with other items is excellent. Calorie cutting, and you get all that extra protein (60 grams per 3 scoops- that's like.. a chicken breast. In a glass. With Very little fat.)

I also suggest getting a -bunch- of banana bunches and freezing them all, it helps in that you don't have to use ice in your smoothies, and you don't have to worry about brown bananas.

My only comment is might be skip the rice at dinner. Then when I start cutting I keep my butter on my veggies but I want more results I get rid of the butter kinda thing. Do what works for you. That's a pretty good diet plan. Change it up every so often so you don't get bored.

I know this isn't what you were asking, but i also have really bad cramps during my period and working out is actually really good for helping to relieve it.

Hope no one minds my responding to this older post, but whey can directly assist with weight loss via various mechanisms. The I wrote called article The Whey To Weight Loss covers that info if interested.

You shouldn't cook with whey protein because heat changes the molecular structure of the protein. For cooking use soy isolate instead, it is stable at cooking temperatures.
