    Default Scared sh....less

Hi, my name is Aj I don't really have a stripper name yet... I am going to try and find a place in Sacramento to audition at tonight to get my feet wet and then I am going to try going to Reno tomorrow night. I just want to get the pre-dancer jitters out of my system my auditioning tonight knowing the money is going to suck since I'm new and in a town that doesn't generate a lot of dancer revenue. I know to go slow, but I don't particularly know how to strip dance. I am going to go get some outfits in a little bit and besides that don't know what to do or think.... Just nervous and thought I would tell someone. I know telling my mom would be a big no go because she would freak out and yell and scream but hey money's money. BTW I am 21 but after getting out of the military I haven't had the best luck finding jobs.

    Aj..

We all went through that "Scared" thing. Or most of us anywho.

We all had a point in time that we didn't know how to move, how to take off our clothes sexy, how guys would react to us.

Some guys actually prefer the "brand new" girls. Your nervousness will remind them that you are human, too... which usually generates more money. I used to find that when I had an obvious zit and figured I'd earn no money, I used to actually make more. It intimidates the guys less to be able to think of you as human instead of a goddess.

In order to get through those rough first nights, I would pretend I was some super hot stripper with years of experience under my belt.. and it worked wonders. I felt more confident in my role.... and the nervousness was just gone. And most of the guys had any idea I was new until I told them. LOL

Gnerally speaking, men aren't looking for you to be perfect. They want to see a real, live woman take off her clothes for them. They focus their attention on the woman-bits they don't have and are generally amazed... ooo, naked woman parts! lol.

    I hope that helps.

Watch the other girls on stage and watch them give laps. When I went to the club before I started stripping I felt so awkward looking at laps going on but when your a stripper it's different. If you fall, can't get your clothes off, knock over a table of beers with your hair, knee the guy in the balls just laugh and apologize, ahah. We've all done or heard of someone doing it!

Remember even if everyone at the club is letting the guys do something your not okay with, or the dancers are doing something your not okay with does NOT mean you have to put up with that.

My best advice is to remember that you are in control. Just because your new and confused if it doesn't seem right (oh I didn't know that was 2 songs, after you tell them it was) it's not right. I know it sounds dumb but if you get caught up in all the "newness" it's easy to just let things go because your so confused.

    Hey AJ,

    Welcome to SW!

First of all, I don't think traveling to Reno on your second night would be a good idea at all. It's better to stay close to home, get used to one club, learn about the business, and get your dancing streamlined. You might make $500 your first day or you might make $5. That's true for every day at work, but when you're learning it's less scary to be closer to your comfort zone. What if you got to Reno and didn't make enough money to make it worth the trip? I doubt that'd happen but you never know.

Practice makes perfect, just watch the other girls and build on their moves... don't outright copy them tho, that's rude. Don't drink or do drugs to calm your nerves, it doesn't help and it's dangerous... you could fall offstage or get talked into doing something you don't want to do. No one expects you to be perfect, tell people you're new, some guys like to "break in" new girls.

As for outfits, buy one or two right now, don't go overboard. Very important- GET SHOES WITH ANKLE STRAPS! Trust me, they fall off if you don't. I made that mistake w/ my first pair of shoes. Leg warmers are great for floorwork, otherwise your knees are going to be REALLY mad at you.

Good luck! We're always here for you if you need us.

OP, do you prefer topless or nude?
There are very few clubs in Sac to make money. It's also summertime.
Reno requires a license about ~$300.

You could try Body Shop or Gold Club Centerfolds. I used to work at City Limits..though I don't know how its been.

    Hello!
If you have not gone to the Newbie section yet, you could go there and read some things. The stickys have some great info.

As for advice, I would say once you start dancing its really a lot easier to get up on stage and dance than one would think. Once you do your first set it gets easier each time A lot of people psyche themselves out before their first time and get very nervous, but its really not so bad, once you actually do it, you will feel proud of yourself.

So I was on stage tonight at amateur night and I didn't win which was fine. I just needed to be in front of people again. I tried it at, was fine with the other girls and the people who worked there but I don't know not where I wanted to spend most of my time. I am going to try out at two other local places and know kind of which one I prefer but it wasn't very busy. I was just very happy that people were asking me for dances and if I danced anywhere else so they could come see me. I was sad to say not yet and that i couldn't give dances on an audition/amateur night. There were a lot of girls but there wasn't much hustle to it just a lot of eye contact and flirting from across the room. It was great and I will definitely do it again tomorrow. I am really nervous with dancing in Sac because of people in the area that I couldn't work with them in the same building as me let alone them asking me for a dance or sitting at a stage starring at me so Reno and SF pose as better options for me. The drive would be worth it. I have 7" shoes with no ankle strap and I didn't fall even during the topless jumping jax contest and a few girls asked me if I could show them some stuff on the pole( I think that's my favorite part about doing this). So made 0$ spent a lot and well I'm ready to go do it again.
