With footage apparently coming out of Jesse Jackson using the "n" word(the derogatory term for black people if you didnt catch that ...I wont write it),there are debates brewing YET again about use of the word and when and if it is ever appropriate.
I dont feel comfortable using it,but it doesnt offend me when black people use it. I dont particularly like the ghetto "what up my N-----" type of speech, but the word itself used in that context BY a black person doesnt bother me.
I am not offended by the fact that it seems to be ok for black people to use it,but not white people. I compare it to it being ok to me to affectionately call a girlfriend a bitch or whore joking with each other...but if a guy calls me that,I am pissed. Totally different connotations.
This was the argument on the View(which for the record I dont watch...it was on Perez)

Discuss...and PLEASE..I know this is a sensitive topic for many, but lets keep it civil shall we.

. As far as my feelings on the "N" word...it is an adjective used to describe an attitude, not a color. The idea that a person or group of people "own" a word is ridiculous, the idea that using a word gives someone the "justification" to commit assault or murder is even more assinine. If your life is so pathetic that you have nothing to lose or nothing better to do than worry about a silly fricken word than maybe you should be focusing on other more important things.
