    Default movie tickets

So the movie theatre we go to gives you a free pass if you buy a popcorn.soda.candy combo. When we saw Hancock last week they said Sony wasnt allowing any free passes to be used for that movie. Now I want to see Dark Knight and Mama Mia...is there any way to find out beforehand if passes are accepted? The phone number for the theatre is all automate so you cant talk to a person and it doesnt say.

The newspaper listing usually will tell you if they are currently accepting passes. Unless the movie is crap you most likely won't be able to use them within the first couple of weeks of release . I think you have a shot at Momma Mia, but not Dark Knight.

    I know....newspapers are soooo 20th century.

Yeah, most movie theaters don't accept promotional passes for the first couple weekends. D'oh! Maybe if the theater has a website?

Fandango.com usually also lists if passes are taken or not.
    I'm not who I say I am.

    ^^ Try going to 411.com

Enter the movie theatre name, city and state and see if it lists a number other than the automated "here's what's playing" life. If so, great! if not, try listening to the automated line and see if it gives a separate number to call for handicapped tickets, customer service, etc. Usually if you call that number, you get a live body, albeit a bored sounding 16 year old!
    Hope that helps!

I'd say call and like Violet Harley said, just try to get anyone that works there. For my local theatre, I call and press the button requesting a birthday party. It works, though they sound kinda pissed haha.

I'm seeing both those movies tonight!!

I looked and couldnt find any info on passes there

(stupid multi quote still not working)Dixie:"I'd say call and like Violet Harley said, just try to get anyone that works there. For my local theatre, I call and press the button requesting a birthday party. It works, though they sound kinda pissed haha."

There is no option for that at these theaters. Just a computer telling directions and showtimes and extolling the virtues of their popcorn.. NO way to get an actual human. Grrrr The ONE time I actually WANT to call someone and I cant do it. God..I swear i have the worst luck in the known universe.

Local paper had no info on it either.

I'll try 411, but it looks like I'll just have to go and see when I get there. Annoying.I hope they dont have an expiration date!

    Thanks for trying though guys!!
