Tonight will be my first night dancing, and I feel confident about my appearance, my outfit, my attitude, and even my hustle. I have spent a few hours here on SW, learning some great things and feel very prepared to approach customers and immerse myself in the money-making!
There is one thing that I am terrified about however, and that is getting up on the main stage. At the club I was hired at, there are no poles (it's very upscale). I feel that if there was a pole, I wouldn't be as nervous. It would give me something to touch, and to move around - like a prop. Without a pole, I am not quite sure what to do with myself. I am nowhere near ready for any type of floorwork (I am still wobbly in my new heels).
Also, I have pretty bad anxiety/panic. I am fearful that when my song starts and I walk out, I will freeze, become totally nauseous (always happens when I panic), my throat closes up, I can't breath, and my heart POUNDS. I am having irrational fears of running off stage...or making a fool out of myself.I am not sure if we are able to skip the stage (I think you can do it if you are in VIP), but I'm not 100%. I also know that I won't be able to skip forever...
Any tips for someone with extreme stage fright? I have considered taking 1/2 of a Xanax, because I gave up drinking 7 months ago, and don't want to go back down that path. I am the type that once I "get it over with", I think I'll be fine....it's just GETTING TO THAT POINT.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.![]()
