I wanted to post my feelings about competitions in hopes of getting information on where to compete provided its all fair. However, there's more to it than that due to the problem that will never go away.
Have you ever participated in a dance contest or pole competion? If so, was it run fairly or was it rigged? Was the contest designed to award the winners who came in second or third or was it an all or nothing gig?

And apparently we made club history...they really couldn't decide who had gotten more applause...so they did the noise-o-meter thing again, and still thought the applause was pretty much even, so...four way tie! We each got $125.
The winner was this impossibly tiny girl that looked about 15. The club was packed though, and I got knocked out after the first round, but still made $100 in stage tips.

. They were hoping it would make me wanna dance there as they had been begging me for like 6 months that my husband and I had been customers. It worked. Oh and i won a pitcher of beer and a baby tee-lol.
I'll do an amateur contest if I think I might possibly want to work at the club that's having it. Most of the time the contest can be your audition too, and it's a good way to check out the club first. Otherwise I think contests are a waste of time.
