    Default Dancing in SoCal

I know I hear everyone saying "Don't dance in LA/SoCal" but JUST how bad is it really? Anyone care to post or PM their averages?

I've hit a few roadblocks along the way but I still plan to be out there this year. I guess I'm wondering if it's possible to dance still or if I'd need to go another route.

I live in LA and started in late March. I used to average about 100 a night when I first started. Now that I am more known among the regulars and am building up my own clients I make around 300 a night, but that might just be luck in the past few weeks I have gone in. I have worked at some clubs here that are sooo dead though that it is impossible to make 200 and up a night just based on how few customers with money come in. If you work in So Cal you NEED to work in a busy club even if its one like the Rhino that takes half your money.

As for other girls I work there. At the bikini club I work there I see some girls make 500 and up every night but thats only a few girls. I see some girls occasionally making 500 and up, and I see a lot of girls complaining that its not as good as it used to be. They tell me a year ago theyd work two days -fri and sat and make over 1k each day. Now that doesnt happen anymore. I still see the champagne room getting booked rather quickly on a busy night there. in fact last saturday i couldnt get into the vip room for the second time because they were using it as an extra champagne room cuz the other two were booked.

At the nude club I work at I see ONE dancer consistantly making 1k a night (but pretty sure she is an extras girl, and has been there since the club opened) and the other girls hitting or missing, sometimes making 500 sometimes making 100. Its not steady money unless you have a lot of regulars.

A lot of the girls in my club are happy to leave with 150 a night.

the girls in my last club turned tricks and customers were often around 15-20 (total, per shift) through the door.

it's AWESOME here. come on down!!!!

and no, it's nothing like it was. California went down the tubes with the housing market. seriously... don't bother.

A friend of mine moved down to SoCal from Portland and does not break $200 very often. That wasn't the reason she moved down, to be sure. It's not a city/region to dance in.

When I left it was super good bragging rights to make $200 and even then a girl was 'Who'd ya blow?!'

I left to another country and will never come back so I can tell all. The club I left was Cabaret in Wilmington and was good money at first...

but the huge one that you could ONLY make money if you were a hooker paying off the DJ was Ecstasy in Santa Ana. If Felix is reading this, I miss you baby!

Get out while you can. Any girl here that's left California will tell you right now they're better off.

It can be hit or miss I live in LA and lately I make at least 250 and almost 400. It dose take a lot of work sometimes as it seems like not too many people have as much money. I think the girls that do better than that do more than dance as I see those girls with a lot more dances. It takes some time to find a good club. Another thing it seems like a lot of the clubs have too many girls I have auditioned at a like 4 clubs that said they were full even before I danced. I don't know maybe its just me I thought most clubs wanted a lot of girls and hired most girls however, there was a few clubs that just closed down too.

Anyone else have trouble getting into a club in LA?

I'm just wondering why SoCal sucks so bad? Is it just over saturated with girls, cost of living being higher than most people are earning or what? It seems like it should be rockin' there.

Thankfully I just got a job teaching riding lessons out there, whew.

I may do a Vegas trip a month, though.

I still haven't jumped on board to get a license out here to work. With all the bad reviews and the idea of commuting, I just can't bring myself to shell out the cash for the license.

Thanks, TM. I don't mean to be a downer but I guess I still have a lot on my plate since moving here. I'm sure I'll give it a shot eventually. I just need to get more organized and jump in.

San Diego's supposed to be better than LA. And for those who 'think it would be rockin'... umm... pick up a newspaper! Look at the housing market! Los Angeles has been hit with some of the worst ripple effects from the housing downturn (and other things) in the nation.

yeah, me and another girl from my current club auditioned at one of the rhinos and both got told we are too fat lol (not at the same time, i didnt even know she had auditioned and she auditioned for a different manager than i did). a lot of girls want to work right now because its summer and theyre out of school and since the economy is so bad right now a lot of girls are changing clubs trying to make money so im guessing the clubs are getting wayy too many girls auditioning than they need. i think the reason they might not be hiring as much is because they want their house girls to still be able to make money. when there is too many girls that is too hard o do.

men are cheap here, and women are desperate and beautiful. its hard to compete with beautiful women who sleep with men they meet at nightclubs for free in hopes of getting into one of his films or becoming a trophy wife. why would a guy spend 20 bucks or more a song on a lapdance when he can get the same exact thing and more in a nightclub with a girl who is m ore likely to actually go all the way with him? guys here are wayyy too spoiled. theyd also rather spend 1k on bottle service at a hollywood hotspot than 300 bucks on lap dances at a strip club. i guess they realize strippers will only talk to them for money whereas girls at a nightclub will sit with them because they have low self esteem/desperation and they thus have a higher chance of getting laid at a normal club.

I went to Rough and was told I was too fat, it didn't happen to be by a big fat nerdy guy with glasses was it? I want to know why I had get naked on stage for him to figure that out, I know in my case one can tell if I was in the right weight catagory with my clothes on.

which Rouge? Downtown or Van Nuys? I worked at Van Nuys and we had some very overweight girls there so I am guessing if they said that they must just not want to take on any new girls. I dont know about downtown though. And we dont have any fat nerdy guys as managers in the Van Nuys Rouge so I am guessing it was downtown?

and no the person who told me i had to lose weight was a woman manager

I auditioned at the Rhino in Downtown (this was over a year ago) and got turned down. I wasn't told I was too fat but I thik that is what she thought (altho I am athletic an no where near even chubby, but there r some places that want u to b skinny). Anyway, this manager was really mean, she talked down to me, gave me dirty looks an even accused me of stealing something. She looked like a lesbian. Had short blondish hair. If any1 knows her. Anyway, she seemed like a real bitch an kinda like a crazy bitch--like something was off about her. I wonder if all the Rhinos r like that? or is it just that 1? Or just her?

Wow! So many threads about LA. I've been dancing off and on here for four years. I bounce around 4 different clubs; one topless, three bikini. Lately, my average is around $200...but my shifts are SHORT! And believer it or not, in the past week, I have received expensive gifts just for being nice (and I'm not blowing anyone, LOL) I rarely work over 6 hours as I have another career.

But I have had my days of making less than $100 and on July 3rd, for the first time ever, I went home $10 in the hole (But I only worked 2 hrs., but still...)

The girl who said that LA is full of desperate, beautiful women is right. Dancers have to compete with them because chances are they will do more for free. Then there is the craigslist thing in which girls are just looking for random hook-ups, and of course, web-cam and internet porn.

But as a part-time thing and if you really love dancing and if you want to hang in So. Cali for a while, it can be fun.
