    Default Dirt (for hair)

I've tried Redken, Rusk, Aveda....this is the best texturizer I've ever tried for my hair.

    I fucking LOVE it.

I have kinda thin hair that can look greasy or weighted down with pomade or serums. A lot of these products give it shine and volume for like an hour, and then BLAH. I like to straighten my hair, and after a while it flattens down and I get a marcia brady-like middle part.

This....I shied away because of the name, but I'm glad I finally gave it a go. Volume, texture, styled easily and it smells pretty nice.

Dirt is a Jonathan Antin product right? Its a Vegan line I believe.
Yes it is on Sephora. I've wanted to try it for along time,
its just pricey. I think I will try it now. I get the same flat hair syndrome.

yep, that's the one...and it's vegan, which of course I like.

It is a little expensive, which is why I got it off ebay after trying it in the store. It's like half as much on there.

This is EXACTLY my hair predicament! I have so many hair products I need an extra bag when I travel, it's pathetic. My next addition was going to be salt water spray for my roots but I maybe I should try this? Have you tried After-Party by Bed Head (Tigi)? If so how does it compare?

DD- no, I never tried that one. You should try this next time you're at Sephora or B&BW. Your hair is sorta like mine so I think you'll like it.

So texturizer gives more volume to the hair?

If you have really long hair (almost to my butt and thick (the strands are fine I just have TONS of it), do you think it will work?

I HATE when my hair looks plastered on my head but nothing seems to be able to defy gravity enough not to succumb to flatness.

I wanted to ask too, but I didn't want to go first - so, like, how exactly do you use it?

    ^seriously? wow. cool.

I know sephora has a really killer return policy-- so if you try it and don't like it they take it back.

I'm not sure about long and thick. Sorry!

Well, this one is like a paste. There's really no other way to describe it. You have to warm it up in your hands first and then it turns into an oily consistency. Use very little, and if you don't think it's enough add more.

I like to start combing it through low, flip my head over, and work from the bottom. And do the front area with just a tad so I don't weigh it down. I fluff it to give it volume.

I found a video of it:

fast forward to 1:20 to get to the Dirt part.

so i don't understand do you use the dirt after you have blow-dryed and starightened your hair. i have very wavy hair so i have to put lots of heat on my hair for work.
my sister use to work at jonathan's salon in west hollywood. so i think his products are junk if you ask me. if you can get it on a home shopping network then they are very lame

yes, but I guess you could use it when it's damp, but it helps style and put in place too.

well, I don't agree with this. I'm sure you have things in your house that can be purchased off QVC or HSN. They sell some very high end stuff, especially cosmetics and haircare on those channels.

I like it too - I bought the smallish one for $14 from Sephora and have barely put a dent in it 3 months later. However I don't use it everyday (only on my real hair, lol). My 'regular' hair is very fine, color treated and near the middle of my back. Doesn't weigh it down at all either.

My hair is similar to yours as well Emily but I guess I am a little confused still, did you mean you are applying after you blow dry prior to styling ?
If it works as you say, I am excited!

I also love his Silky Dirt, too. Gives a lovely shine with the volume.

Bumble and Bumble Beach Spray also works really well in giving volume and grit to fine hair--just takes a couple of pumps.
