    Default Sliver in foot

Well, in a moment of sheer klutz, I broke a glass by dropping it into the sink. Small slivers must have flown out and landed on the floor, because I'm pretty sure I now have one in the side of my foot. It hurts in that area, bled a couple drops, and if I place pressure on it OW. So out came the trusty tweezers. Problem is, though, I can't see the freaking sliver much less grab it and pull it out. I would love to have this damn thing out of my foot as i have a long day of making tracks at the mall and sudden jolts of pain in my foot are not welcome.

    Help?

If you haven't done so already, I would sue some kind of magnifying lens and some really good lighting. Between the two of them, by experimenting ith different angles of the light you should be able to see some kind of sparkle or light refraction from the glass.

I've seen tweezers with a built-in lens at some stores like CVS and Walgreens, for only a couple bucks. Even if you could pick up a cheap magnifying glass, you should be able to work with it. I've had success removing little cactus things and shards of glass this way. That and a lot of patience.

Depending on how small the sliver is it may be best to leave it.
i know that sounds crazy but i got a bit of glass in my heel, it bled a bit and hurt to stand on it. I went to the hospital and they x-rayed my foot. Their advice was that because the glass was so small and had already travelled so far into my foot it would do more damage trying to get it out than just leaving it.Apparently my body would naturally encapsulate the glass stopping it from causing damage.
If it is close to the skin surface and large then by all means try to remove it.
    I'm just offering another option.

if there's any piece sticking out there might be a chance you can still get it with scotch tape. This works great with kids who don't like the tweezers too. Take a piece of scotch tape. Press it on and let it set for a minute or two. Then remove quickly. It works well on wooden splinters, but I'm not sure about glass. But, Hell..it doesn't hurt to try!
    I'm not who I say I am.

Have you tried soaking your foot in and epsom salts bath and then rinsing with peroxide? That worked for me for a glass sliver I had in the palm of my hand...

I haven't any epsom salt but i will soak my foot and try peroxide! It's still in there after all the tips people have given me and my is it annoying. Thanks VG!

ETA: No go. i think the skin is closed up around the glass.

ETA2: Got it. Got frustrated, soaked a pin in alcohol, then removed the skin around the sliver. I had a total of three pieces of glass in my foot. Go me.
