If you mean my chatting with XDamage then you couldn't be further off the track if you tried.

That is a thread jacked side convo [ its my thread I'll jack it if I want to ] that has nothing to do with whether you gals want to get together, with or without guys.

It was TOTALLY about US... notice Xdamages comment exactly to that effect...

BTW, while we are on the subject, is it needed to point out the obvious: That it is just possible that if you are willing to judge the worth of someone simply by what you read on a website about them it might say a whole hell of a lot more about you than it says about the person you are judging?

BTW, I guess you know now that LadyJade already set up more then one get together on the NE coast. SW males were invited for part of it, but from what I gathered from the post-event stories, despite that they had a problem with someone not honoring the ladies only events. As you can guess, she has more reason then most anyone then to be gun-shy about it.

Yeah, I heard. One guy is a potential ass [since I only know one side of it we'll leave it at that] so the rest of us get the treatment.

If you want to make plans for women only you don't do it out in the open so the male members can see you do it, and in a thread started by a guy. I'm sorry, I won't pretend to understand it. It's philogynist, a tad anti-social and just plain rude.

It is also a little juvenile - we are all members but you can't come in. Na Nanny Nah Nah. 100 years women have been fighting segregation in the form of "men only" and when they get what they are looking for what do they do... copy the same arrogant, elitist, segregationist practices men did. {go figure} You'd think they'd know how it feels having dealt with it themselves.

    Golden_Rule = industry folk.

I was a bouncer prior to a long stint in other work. Now that I don't do that work any more I am the floor manager and head bouncer for private affairs with an average of 250 clients and 60 dancers at a pop.

It isn't a big deal but to be candid, and I don't know why, I expected better.

the girls want to hang with the girls.

lj et al. were pretty clear that they don't want to hang out with men at their regional get-together...whatsoever. even SO's are being excluded, why should you be allowed to go or for that matter even want to go then?

is that "on topic"? no. but i didn't realize it has to be so rigid in our social interaction here. i've never known threads/topics to stay "on topic" (or forced to stay on topic), except for the most militant and thus boring (imo) forums.

the thread's about tri-state people. it then happened to gravitate towards a women-only sub-topic.

well, i'm not exactly surprised or butt-hurt about that since it is stripperweb, not "stripping industry forum" or "meet-a-stripper forum".

you want to do a guys' get-together for the tri-state, then post it in blue.

don't get me wrong, i could give a hoot either way (lj knows that). but being peripherally in the industry doesn't mean you're a dancer/stripper, i.e. really in the industry. frankly, a customer is actually in the industry if you want to define "industry" in the traditional sense. but obviously customers and such would not be welcome (especially) in this situation.

imho, you should just take the hint.

especially when it's applied with a lj sledgehammer.

No one is questioning their having a ladies only G2G. What is being questioned is equity and general decorum.

The equity question goes to language. Be specific. If industry PEOPLE are invited, well people are both male and female. If its female only don't use the term "people".

As to decorum, what is there not to understand? Why do some folks here simply don't get it?

Let me spell it out: Look, you have male members on SW. For better or worse that is the way it is. If you want to have G2Gs that excludes some of the members of the same community you don't plan it out in front of them, and especially not co-opting a thread started by one of the very people you plan on excluding.

ITS TACKY, IMPOLITE, AND IN HORRIBLY BAD FORM!

Wasn't anyone around here raised with any manners?

As for an invite: This, at least to me, long ago left the area of whether or not I am interesting in attending such a G2G. Like anyone else I'd rather not be where I am not wanted.

What I am talking about is how people with any grace, respect for fellow members of the same community, and manners treat each other.

but that's pretty much the general situation for men here anyways. i mean, there's always been a tenuous excuse for guys to even be on this site...well, at least according to many of the female members here.

...but i think they sometimes forget that even pryce isn't a girl though.

me? i'm just here for the very interesting conversations.

    or TOO...

but the site is clearly not sure that it is a dancers only. Two particular points of interest:

1.) Gallery (come see stripper pics)

2.) Customer Conversations ("Come ask us questions!")

and arguably, Strip Club Junkie is a draw for customers too...

Thus the customers come to the site. Duh.

The site policy has always seemed to me to be an organic one, not clearly dancer only, but more along the lines of dancer oriented, dancer focused, they have a lot of say in terms of moderation in most forums, but are not owners... customers are allowed, freedom allowed on SCJ, far less so on SW (but then arguably dancers have limited freedoms on SW too as they have noted various threads being closed down when dancer discussions get too heated).

In summary, yep, the intent is this a dancer site first, customer site second, so... no big deal. Customers comply or are booted. But given the bazillions of groups that have forums and a focus on the internet, no big deal. This is just one of many.

And besides, let's not pretend. HOT LADIES draws us guys. We can slice and dice reality ten billion ways, and the fact is, this is kind of an important factor to what makes us guys tick.

I like PYTs as much as the next guy but they are just folks to me.

When in situations where it is their attractiveness that is of primary concern, like in a strip-club, its still just folks but I treat the attractive factor the same way I treat anything intoxicating. In other words, its OK in moderation but don't ever let it cloud your judgement.

    /threadjack on

I like to stroke my ego and tell myself that it does not cloud my judgment or prejudice my choices, but I try to be honest with myself too. I think the reality is I'm less influenced them some, but it is still a factor. No big deal. It is how I am wired, and accept it much the same way I accept my attraction to food, music, and many other pleasures in life that draw my attention.

Still, I have to admit, if it wasn't for the PYTs on this site, hmmm... would I stay?

At times yes, the convo is sufficiently interesting, covering many topics, and the female perspective is also welcome (pretty or not).

At other times the site goes into a state of us vs them, and I admit, it is a reminder that our welcome on this site (as men and customers) is a tenacious one at best. I guess I do believe in the notion of not hanging around where I am not wanted concept. Better things to do and ways to spend my time and all of that.

Well I hope I am not kidding myself. I do try to take a 3rd party perspective on things. That helps. I think.

What interests me about this site is what interests me about most web sites. The interaction. Human dynamics is fascinating. I honestly think it is what brought be into police work. Its like the best possible lab class you could take on the subject.

I agree. If there weren't people interesting enough to converse with I wouldn't stay.

When it gets to be too much I go away for awhile.

I've been gone from as little as a week to as much as a year.

    wishing well...
