    Default Sobriety x12 weeks!

So my PS and I had a pre-op meeting about my lift and augmentation and I asked if marijuana smoke had an impact on healing. He said yes and that I couldn't smoke for 6 weeks after -or before! I was supposed to get the surgery on the 31st and then I had to reschedule for the beginning of September. I'm so bummed that I have to wait even longer, and not touch the 1/2 oz my fiance just got. By the time I could smoke I'd be applying for my nursing program and unable to smoke at all.
I'm giving myself until this weekend to smoke it up. Then it's cold turkey until 2010ish! Sheesh! I knew a girl at my 1st club that said she smoked all through her recovery period post-BA and was fine. But the PS says I could "lose a nipple over it" so that's motivation enough. It's going to be hard to be not smoking. It's been a habit for about 10 months now. Wish me luck in my sobriety and offer any advice you have please
I do think that moving out the surgery date is OK since I'll have more time at my new club to make money and I don't need to take any classes in the Fall. I feel like I'm just getting more anxious about quitting MJ and having my boobs butchered...

When you get out of surgery, try to change up your routine and environment in any ways you can. For instance, you might associate it with sitting in a certain chair and watching TV... get out of that tiny habit and be conscious about it, and the other habits will trail after.

Don't worry, you can do it. I've had friends who have had to involuntarily quit for various reasons like programs they've been in, and a big part of it is carving out your niche in the social circles you inhabit.

    ...or you could bake it!

    Good luck and yay boobies!

I think you should definitely not smoke OR drink for a few weeks before your BA. Because of the anesthestia. (however the fuck u spell it)

but....um........omg....you won't lose a nipple if you smoke it. I literally had to bring my friend over and laugh about that one.

i hate to give bad advice. my ps said not to smoke anything (i smoked cigs and weed at the time) for at least 2 weeks. i smoked both the whole time (hey that was ten years ago) i did have a problem coming out of the anesthesia as far as i was kinda breathing the oxygen hard. nothing happened to my BA though. so take that for what it's worth.

oh and i didnt smoke anything for almost a week after. i couldnt...

Good luck quitting; you can do it.

If it helps, remind yourself that the ban is temporary. After you're all healed up, you can go back to having whatever you want. So it's not like you have to deny yourself forever.

Better safe than sorry. Alcohol and pot are always going to be around! (-:
