I always keep water, really strong peppermints and rescue remedy in my purse. If it happens when I'm driving I'll just talk to myself and tell myself I'm being stupid and it's just a stupid panic attack and it will be over in a couple minutes.
I meditate on positive affirmations. Smelling lavender essential oil helps me as well. I do the two in combination for maximum benefit.

I let the anxiety happen, I know what it is, Ive been dealing with it for years and remind myself it will pass...now if Im on the road and it happens I pull over and become very sensitive to the stiffness/tightness in my neck and back muscles and try to relax them by tensing up and holding my breath then exhaling relaxing them. If you are physically more relaxed it reduces the mental anxiety part...this is my therapist's advice.

Rescue remedy! haha, I use that on my horses. I can never tell if it works.
When I get super anxious, my knees go weak, my face goes flush, my hands shake, my heart palpitates, all that. I try to concentrate on my breathing. Full belly breaths...I breathe in through my nose as deep as I can, thinking about filling the lower part first, and then I breathe out through my mouth, starting with the top part (so reverse order) and make a 'woosh' sound with the air. It's supposed to oxygenate you the best. It does sorta work.

If I'm at home a pillow and a sheet or blanket. Hold pillow and cover self with sheet or blanket. I keep myself focused on other thoughts or do something with my thoughts. Really anything such as tearing the newspaper to little tiny bits.

Ways to help prevent, reduce caffeine intake and exercise!
I'm not too good with knowing what to do once it starts though.
I'm not who I say I am.
I have a cheap floaty thing that I got at Target for $1. I float around on it in the pool. That way, I'm still immersed in water but I don't have to tred. It's comforting to me. Also, I have a bamboo towel and a bamboo bathrobe that I like to cuddle in. I'll take a shower and shave and do all that stuff that makes me feel clean and then wrap myself up in one of those. Also (and this might sound corny), I focus on the good, comforting things in life. I have a nice place to live, I have a nice car, my bf loves me, I have a well-paying job, etc.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

i have bad anxiety and get panic attacks. ive foudn that meds dont work real well for me. this may not be the best advice but smoking marijuana has helped me greatly. before, during, and after anxiety and panic attacks....
Aromatherapy is helping me a lot. I love lavender and (I'm boring) I need to find a new scent to enjoy...But yeah, lavender is the standard de-stressing scent.
Drink Tension Tamer tea (by Celestial Seasonings) or chamomile tea.
Cut caffeine out of your diet....it will make a bg difference in how easy it is to gear down...
Clean up your diet- no junk. Make "comfort food meals." Make yourself sit down and eat, don't eat on the run, it messes up digestion and makes you uncomfortable.
Seek advice for your problems...Some people can't relax unless they feel like they've allotted effort to finding a solution to their issues (also known as "worrywarts.") I talk to people via message boards like this one or I talk to a few friends.
Listen to meditative or exotic music. I feel it transports the mind and distracts the person from their current frame of mind.
Remember that life turns on a dime and tomorrow or next week might bring a solution, some assistance, or a relief from some of what is troubling you. Don't assume things will be nothing but hardship or obstacles. It is true, thoughts can become energy, so focus on looking for the good and not the bad.

My psychiatrist told me to use relaxation techniques - such as meditation or yoga and also thought blocking techniques - if u are having a negative, anxiety-provoking thought actively tell yourself to stop and think of something else. It sounds weird but it actually works a lot of the time.
There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.
Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.
A good friend to talk it out with always helps me..

Anxiety & Panic attacks have been a part of my life since age 10....I've found that (aside from Xanax), the best thing is just GETTING MY MIND OFF OF IT. I have to focus on something else...or I will sit there and go into full-blown panic mode. Excusing myself to the ladies room, getting some water, deep breaths, and sometimes, just telling someone (hey, I feel really anxious right now), has helped me....

five flower formula by bach' think its a little different than rescue remedy maybe not. think that works tho. thinking about how genuinely BLESSED i am. reading my horoscope( ha ha but really) i like to chalk things up to the stars sometimes makes me feel less responsible for being out of sorts." putting it in the air "almost always calms me down unless thats what freaked me out in the first place.

oh yeah, i've read about kava kava in relation with liver problems probly worth doing research on if you wanted to try using it..

I repeat This too shall pass, and take a shower if I am home.

I wouldn't recommmend it (Tension Tamer Tea) if one was going to drive anywhere or have to be at an appointment at a certain time. But before bedtime, or just during time spent at home, it is relaxing.
I also forgot to mention acupressure- you can release endorphins by pressing certain points on the body. In general, Chinese medicine has a lot of great methods of dealing with anxiety or stress.
Edit to add- I'm not sure where one would find this information, (falls under the "Meditation" category) but it is possible to slow down the heartbeat using the power of thought. My ex-boyfriend knew how to do this, he called it "going to his happy place." I'm too ADD-stricken to meditiate effectively, so that's all I can tell you.

Exercise or playing with kids is supposed to be a good way to release those "feel good" vibes.
If I'm in a public place, I usually go in the biggest bathroom stall, take deep breaths, and stretch my legs while giving myself a pep talk in my head. This is when I'll usually take that Rescue Remedy stuff too. The health food store has so many anti-anxiety options.
If I know I'm going to be panicky in a few hours, honestly, I go to church (when there's not a service). I'm not Christian but the nice pastor there gave me the password to the prayer chapel, and they have a 'prayer garden' and a playground... swinging on the swings, going into the quiet chapel, and walking in the garden helps me sooo much.
If I have just a little time before something, I drink lots of water and herbal tea (and make time to pee), do some yoga, eat healthy foods, and listen to calming music. Definitely no rushing around...
