    Default Blonde Products?

So i just went SUPER blonde, i love it and want to keep it this color.

The hairdresser said i should look for products with purple pigments to keep it from becomming brassy. They had recently stopped selling them so i couldn't buy the products there.

I'd like to know if anyone here uses them and if so which are their favorite.

I use Lush Daddy'O shampoo and love it!! It's a bit pricey but it's all-natural and smells like violet or something! It's a purple shampoo.
Oh, and I used to use Aveda's purple shampoo and it was good too.... again, pricey, and I wasn't CRAZY about the smell, but that's up to you

you can use shampoo for grey hair, but only once every week or so. It also works but you much be careful or else it will have the wrong effect.

Check out Blonde Glam from Redken... They make a color depositing weekly conditioner

It says to use it 1-2 a week, but for my clients who shampoo everyday, some of them like using it up to 4 times a week... just depends on how anal you are about keeping the tone of your blonde.

They also make one that maintains golden blonde.

this is the kind of stuff i use- it is actually purple, and it keeps my bleached self from turning brassy- there are a couple brands i tried, and as long as they were physically purple-they worked out pretty well
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

I have been rockin' the platinum blonde look since I was 13.....my favorite shampoo/conditioner is TIGI Catwalk Oatmeal & Honey. Not for blondes specifically, but my color lasts 8+ weeks and I get compliments on how my hair looks (and how great it smells!). You just wanna eat this stuff, it smells that good!

I second the suggestion for Dumb Blonde. I recently went from my natural dark blonde to a near platinum. My stylist uses it on me at the salon, so I trust it for more than just the name. Plus, it smells like candy!!

Shimmerlights from Sally Beaty. It's actually purple but don't use it every day!

Question. If you dont wash your hair every day (do every other day) and dont blow dry bleached, dry hair, does this contribute to the brassiness/yellow that occurs with platinum?

^^^ not shampooing and heat styling everyday will help your color stay truer to tone longer, but you'll eventually get brassy.

^ see Im concerned the water here is hard so when I air dry my hair there is more time for my dry hair to soak it up...since it's bleached and like a sponge I hear.

Has anyone used vinegar? I saw a response to a question on yahoo answers and was thinking I may give it a shot.

Lol I'm broke so I use John Frieda for Blondes, but it works really well actually!! And I have hard water (like tons of minerals in my water and no water softner) which normally fucks up blonde hair but mine has been fine!!

I've seen vinegar used in clarifying shampoos so that alone makes me hesitant to reccomend it for color treated hair.

If you can find a light leave in conditioner that helps restore ph balance to the hair then tat may help with your air dry concerns- I know Joico makes one. Really, as long as your using good products, professional tools, and your technique is right damage from heat styling is minimal.

^ thanks for the tips. Im such a cheap-o I only use the off brand stuff but shoot if it will help w/ the brassiness Ill try em. Do you have any recommendations for a good product that reduces damage done by heat styling?

For a blow dry, there's several Redken products you can use, it all depends on your desired result...

If you want soft, touchable control try Satinwear... It's only purpose is to protect hair from the heat of a blowdryer and offer enough slip and detangeling to reduce friction and breakage.

If you want a medium hold product that staightens and resists humidity, try Align. It's pretty much the same as Satinwear but with more control.

Oh, forgot about this newer product in the blonde glam line...

Just make sure to concentrate it at the scalp (for Volume) and work it down to the ends (for protection).
