    Default The breakfast thread

So inspired by both the "Dinner thread" and my thread yesterday about my healthy (and pretty!) breakfast I figured we needed a breakfast thread. It's the most important meal of the day anyways! A lot of people skip out on it simply due to time. However, it's such a big factor in both metabolism and blood sugar levels.
    So I'll start:
2 Hard boiled egg whites (I throw out the yolks)
    1 Carrot
and I'm munching on half a cantaloupe
That makes 154 calories roughly..if I eat the entire cantaloupe. I may or may not grab a teaspoon of peanut butter if I feel the urge...or another carrot.
    I'm not who I say I am.

1 cup of organic rice cereal with unsweetened almond milk and a smoothie made with frozen fruit, 100% juice, a banana and rice protein powder.

It's what I eat almost every morning.

I'm having some avocado and tomato slices. Not really breakfasty and probably not healthy (I think avocado has lots of fat/calories) but it's yummy to me, and my fridge is otherwise empty!

Tea... then I'll probably force myself to have some cereal. I don't usually do breakfast until after I've been awake for a couple hours, but I need to start an early day (so I should probably get off SW, eek!)

My Rainbeau Mars yoga DVDs Dawn and Dusk arrived this week. I do Dawn first thing in the morning on an empty tummy. But first I have a tiny china cup of green tea with Jasmine. Bliss

Then I mess it all up afterwards with white bread toast and super strong coffee

I know it's not the best breakfast but usually coffee w light soy milk. yum. I generally eat fruit later on though.

I'm pretty sure there's another similar thread to this one that had lots of good, healthy breakfasts as well.

How do you poach an egg? Isn't that the same as boiling it, without the shell?

I generally eat healthy cereal. Today I'm about to eat a bowl of puffed red wheat cereal (Smacks but without all the sugar and crap) with fat free milk. I usually use soymilk but we're out.

I'm eating this for lunch today, but it's breakfasty so I'll post it too. I bought a carton of egg white so I'm going to make an egg white omelette with diced tomatoes and have some cucumber, carrots and a nectarine on the side.

Animals are my friends, and I don't eat my friends.

There are a lot of healthy things about avocados, and the fat in them is considered a "healthy one". Eaten in moderation they are super healthy for you. Just like anything else though, if you eat too much of it, it's probably not too healthy for you.

    OMG, I'm going to hell.

Yesterday morning I had 2 eggs over easy with bacon, grits and toast (with lots of butter). Today: a very large chunk of red velvet cake with a ton of icing. I think I'll go upstairs and have a bowl of cereal now (Raising Bran Crunch). And after talking about yesterday's breakfast, I wanna go out and get it again.

When I'm being good, it's 2-3 egg whites, oatmeal and an apple/banana/grapefruit half.

Pretty much, but you do it in a special tool so it doesn't turn into a giant spider egg.

I looked up your Aussie dish. it sounds a bit scary. I'm not a big fan of breakfast meats though, so that's probably why!

I posted a link. Mine is made from leftovers of Sunday dinner... usually already cooked vegetables and potatoes turned into mush and refried the next day. Only vegetables, usually.

really really good. Shockingly good. I didn't think I'd like it before I ate it and now I can have bowls of the stuff. You should make it sometime.

Fresh cut pineapple, 1 banana, 1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese, and a 100 calorie protein drink.

Eating healthy b/c I am doing Bikram yoga now and I don't want to do all that hard work only to let it all go to shit over an unhealthy diet.

1 cup berry mix over 2 cup oatmeal
