That's horrible. It sounds like she had other issues though too. She couldn't even talk to her husband about it? That's sad. I really hope I don't get to that point.
I'm not who I say I am.

...sweet Mary, mother of God...may she rest in the arms of the Goddess.
that idiot-- you don't get life insurance when you commit suicide.
That is a selfish example of suicide. Bleah.
I guess parallels can be drawn to the people who jumped out of office buildings during the Depression? Maybe.
that's sad. some people do take things to the extremes. depression is a bitch and maybe the forclosure was the icing on top of the cake.
NEW POSTS!!!!!!!!!
really? wow. actually-- that's kind of nice for any insurance company to do because while yes, one is giving up one's life, on the other hand, insurance companies don't like to give up their money.
But-- depression is a debilitating disease for some, like terminal cancer-- so thinking about it like that it does make sense for some suicides to still have the family compensated with life insurance.
There have been reported cases of this in Northern California- one man actually killed his whole family too. He couldn't handle the "shame" of losing their place and disrupting their comfortable lives.
Don't want to turn this into a financial-political thread, but it would surprise you how easy this is to contemplate if one really feels they're being divested of a lifetime of work.
*Grrrr*

Apparently they tried 3 times for Chap. 13 bankruptcy and were denied the petition each time......
strange, its 2 towns away, the yesterday you heard people mentioning it.....now today its already "old news", which is sick in a way
Yes. Exactly...it isnt JUST the foreclosure. I admit to thinking this way when I found out we were being foreclosed on. That I had screwed up so badly that not only me,but my husband as well, were going to lose everything we'd worked our whole lives for. And that he'd be better off without me screwing it up further.
But we dont have life insurance on me...so he'd be stuck in this anyway...just all alone. I wouldnt do that to him
Suicide makes me sad in general, but it really makes me sad when people do it over money. I mean it's just frickin' money!

So sad. But she really should have talked to her husband.
Now I really do feel bad about my one stock... (I dont wanna threadjack but, long story short, I am making 2x the inverse of real estate stocks, so when real estate goes down on the market, I make twice the loss, and my mom asked if I felt bad. I didn't at the time, but I kinda do now! /end tj)
Love it!
