When I (rarely) work a double, I don't go home because I know I won't come back. I usually bring a book and go to a restaurant that has a patio. I need the patio because the sunlight helps lift my mood after spending 5 hours in a dark club. I read and eat by myself outside for a couple hours, get refreshed, and go back to work.

Never go home when working a double! It is the kiss of death to a double shift. I would rather lay on the living room floor staring at the ceiling with my makeup on than work another shift that same night. I do just what NewMoon says. Also, if I do a double I work at the same club and leave my stuff in my locker so I have to go back.

^Agree! NEVER go home when you gotta work a double. Once you get home, kick back and relax it's really hard to get back in the mood again.

Yeah I totally doYou bad girl, LOL! But I shouldn't criticize. I've only worked 3 shifts this month lol

You lost me at "when working doubles...", lol.I admire anyone who can do it, b/c I just cannot last that long! I can work 6 nights a week no problem, but anything over 7 hours and the ADD kicks in.
But it makes sense that you lose your momentum if you go home in between. Ever notice it's harder to get back into the swing of things after you take a DR break or stop to eat? Your mindset switches over to a relaxed mode and it's harder to get that work momentum up again.

Just had to chime in... I've never worked a double stripping. (Other jobs, I've worked a triple. But dancing is so much more exhausting!) Will probably retire having never done it. But I admire the shit out of the ladies that can and do. It's incredible.![]()
yes I work doubles but I never ever go home because if I do I know I will just stay there lol
so what I do is work from 3pm to 9pm
then from 9 to 10 I go out to dinner or something for a break and it gives me something to look forward to during my day shift
Then I go str8 to work from 10 to 4
maybe you should try not going home maybe going out to eat or a movie whatever to kill time but still be out so you don't go home and get comfortable

I went to a movie with Molly. Now you can all flame me for being an unsupportive dancer friend LOL
I have never worked a double. I'd probably lose my fucking mind.
I was going to post ABBA lyrics.
I think you can overestimate the importance of doubles. It's one thing if you wait till the last minute and need the money to pay your rent - but if you work regularly and stuff - you know it's a marathon, not a sprint. Just relax and go in tomorrow.

My club has a 7 hour shift- no exceptions. Ummm 14 hours... FAIL!
yeah every club I work has a min 6 hours I don't think I could work at the same club double shift ever because I would get bored so I go to the best dayshift spot and then the best night shift spot... its like getting 2 days out of one!
if you do it like me 4 days a week its like getting 8 days out of a week and your only working 4 days and you get to take 3 days off!
plus if you do it on the best days of the week for you you will be surprised at your results
just a suggestion![]()

I agree with the no go home thing. I can work a double IF I am busy at work and sort of get in a time warp and loose track of the hours flying by...but to go home and come back? No way! also I have tried the oh its slow at club A maybe I should try club B thing and I totally loose my momentum even with that....
