Default Last week of pregnancy HELL

Ok so I'm 9 days away from my due date and I am HURTING BAD. It seems to get worse everyday now and has been for the past few days! If you don't mind I'm going to take a few seconds to rant a bit.....

    * I'm getting CRAZY stretch marks
    * I have discharge like a BITCH
    * My sciatic nerves are KILLING ME
    * The kid swishes back and forth when i roll over to switch sides in bed and squishes me in the few seconds in takes to turn over.
    * Two words: BRAXTON HICKS
    * Two more words: MOOD SWINGS
    * AND I CAN'T REACH MY TOES AT ALL ANY MORE AND THEY NEED TO GET PAINTED!
    * My effing maternity pants don't fit anymore! so now i have to wear dresses and it's hard to keep my legs closed cause of my belly
    * My husband is being a complete jerk off / is a complete jerk off and he's not even here he's in Iraq!
    * The kid dropped so i can hardly sit up straight any more.
    * The pressure in my pelvis is wicked uncomfortable
    * I try so hard to be graceful but no matter how hard i try I still feel like I stomp around like godzilla!

Anyways, I've been exercising and doing yoga through out the pregnancy but even that doesn't seem to relieve the stress my body feels. Seriously the sciatic nerve thing has to be the worst of them all.

Does any one have any ideas to help me get through this?

Awww, you poor thing. Are you drinking raspberry leaf tea?
My son came 2 weeks early so I didnt go through any of this. I remember the best thing in the world during my last weeks of pregnancy was gentle massage of my aching bits with a tennis ball - hips, shoulders, lower back, if you have someone who can do this for you.
My midfife suggested putting a whole heap of marbles in a tray or cake tin lid and running the feet over them which felt like magic at the time too.
I dont know if you can truely get comfortable - but if you can pamper yourself somewhat you might feel better.

Aww hon I'm so sorry, I don't have any advice having never been pregnant. You just sound so miserable I want to send out a big cyber hug :hugs:

I hope that baby comes out soon and ends your misery, it'll be all worth it when he/she pops out and you have your gorgeous wee baby. Good luck sweetie, xx

I basically lived in my bath tub with lots of lush goodies my last 2 weeks

When my back pain was out of control i would get on all fours and just rock sometimes for 5 minutes sometimes for an hour

I'm so sorry your husband is such an ass, I totally can understand the emotions and mood swings and you deserve to have someone supportive, I hope you have friends or family you can seek love from during this and directly after.

In case no one told you the hormones AFTER the baby are horrific, you gotta keep reminding yourself its not real, its just the hormones, but that part was a BITCH, so there, i warned you.

Aw!!! Your list of pains brought me back to why Im leaning towards adoption since we're thinking of having another kid. Seriously, I was MISERABLE when I was pregos...so I feel for you especially in the hot summer time
But real soon you will have that bundle of joy in your arms you wont even remember the pains youre having right now till youre reminded.

Ahhh stretch marks..try not to look and obsess over them. Theyll fade and get smaller. rub some lotion on your belly if its tight/itchy.

Have you been doing lunges? This and walking may help get things moving. Oh and sex.

Aw shit girl I can relate.

I had the sciatic nerve pain too.

    Things that can help....

*Go swimming in a pool. It will help you feel weightless, buoyant, and yes, even graceful. And you can get exercise to relieve the stress. When I was pregnant I used to crash a hotel pool nearby. I mean what are they gonna do? Kick a pregnant lady out of the pool? Just go in there quietly and float around for a while. That's what I did and it was nice. And nobody said anything.

    *Get a body pillow.

*Take yourself out for a pedicure.

*Do not scratch your skin when it itches. Put lotion on it instead.

    *Bathtub is a good idea.

    *Pregnancy massage.

    *Keep a journal.

*CRY. Let it out. Yes, after the baby too, your hormone levels will be all over the place. It is normal. Cry all you want. Just let it out and you will feel better.

If I can think of anything else I will let you know.

Oh yeah!! Ice cream! Breyer's mint chocolate chip. Worked for me. And funny movies. And books. Rest up, you'll be glad you did.

I'm sorry hubby is being an ass.

You're almost done!!!!! It will be over soon.

Aww you poor thing! The good thing is, the end is right around the corner and you'll have a sweet little baby in your arms!

I recommend going swimming, getting a mani/pedi and eat lots of yummy ice cream. You deserve it.

Don't worry about the strech marks, they will fade, stock up on cocoa butter!

All good suggestions, have as many long baths now as you can, there wpnt be time soon!!!
And really, all I can think of, is it's nearly over, nearly nearly over. And when you lay eyes on the little precious one it will be worth it. Haha but my baby is out now so its easy for me to say!!

Good luck. And I hope your husband gets a psychic kick up the bum and starts behaving himself.

with my 3rd i had a condition that made my legs completely useless (i mean, i could not MOVE them at all) during sleep...it was extremely painful

i went to a chiro that specialized in pg women, he cured my issue in just 2 visits! no more back pain, no more paralized legs, i was in HEAVEN! he fixed me all back up after baby was born and did some baby adjusting (don't freak, it's not like adult adjusting) and cranial sacral therapy on her too!

definatly get to a chiro! but make sure they have plenty of exp. with pg women, otherwise, they can be worthless.

it can also help open your pelvis more for birth.

if you have a exercise ball, use that to sit on and rock your hips back and forth and in a circle to help loosen you up a bit (also helps baby get in the proper position)

honestly everything you've said makes me miss being pg. i can't have anymore, so it makes me nostalgic

Just a word of advice...if you've lost your plug (and you very may well have at this stage) you cannot submerge yourself in water. You can, however, sit in a hot shower and let the water run down your back (what I did with my 3 kids).

I didn't have any of the issues your having (except the mommy badges, LOL). I do agree about going to see a chiro. Being preggers puts all kinds of stress on the body and having someone who specializes in Pregnant women will do you a world of good. I got adjusted the day I hit "real" labor with my 3rd. It made my labor so much easier (no body pains, etc).

I third the chiro - I stopped going for chiropractic when I was pregnant (ran out of funds) and the only real pain from contractions I had during labour was in the areas of my back that were out. If Id ever had another child I would get chiropractic come hell or high water!

    I

actually, that's an old wives tale that you can't submerge after your plug is gone. water will not enter your vagina unless it's literally pushed in. and sitting in a tub will not do that.

my last two babies were born under water as have thousands all around the world. even hospitals are starting to do water births because they are realizing that it's not dangerous as once thought.

^ Submerging in water to give birth is different than submerging daily in water for weeks before birth.

Just so you know what I was talking about. If you lose your plug 3 weeks before you go into labor...you are dilating/effacing and by getting into water, bacteria/etc CAN enter into the uterus/etc. Which is why they tell women it is ok to give water birth (for obvious reasons) but not ok to submerge in water weeks before going into labor.

I guess, for safety's sake, check your plug. Is there a way to do that??

When I was in labor I laid down in the tub with the shower on. I had a bath pillow to rest my head on and the warm water eased the pain of contractions.

Oh and BTW I had never even thought about a chiroprator. Great advice! I'll keep it in mind when I have my next 2 kids.

The chiro does sound nice! I wonder how much it'll cost? It shouldn't be more than 150 do you think? I went once a long time ago in another state and i just don't remember....

Sitting on the ball helped a lot actually oh and so did dancing It really helped me feel more graceful and not as tense and tight.

That thing with my arm falling asleep at night is still killing me though. I just do not get what is going on! It feels like the circulation is getting cut of around my arm pit somewhere but i just don't get why?.... Lets not forget this is my TOP arm BTW!

    Thanks guys for the support

When I was 4 months pregnant I had carpal tunnel syndrome. Maybe that's what you have. My arms, hands, and fingers would feel numb and I'd feel pains shooting through to my back. It finally let up though.

Thanks God it's almost over for you. So many weird things happen to your body when you are pregnant. It's crazy!
