Default Less dances because nobody wants any?

Many of you have made it clear that you get more dances when you're seen in the lapdance or VIP area more. However, does that work the opposite way, too, do you think? If guys see a girl walking around and getting turned down by every customer, do you think that they are less likely to buy a dance from her, assuming that something must be "wrong" with her if she's being turned down by all of these other people?

Reason I ask is because, much of the time, I feel like I'm the only one at my club really working the room. I've even had people comment to me that I'm the only one working (actually walking around, talking to customers, trying to get dances, etc.). I guess the reason for this is that most of the top earners are in rooms with regulars that they've accumulated throughout the years they've been working in the club, while the girls without so many regs are spending ages with the same guys talking and talking. Usually the latter scenerio works for me when I am successful in getting dances. However, I feel like it makes me look desperate and bad, in general, when I'm not getting dances.

This past Thurs, it was like pulling teeth for me to try and get dances. Not only that, but the people that did get dances only got 1 or 2...and I usually stack them. I approached about 3/4 of the room (and it was pretty crowded, at least for a Tues), and I kept getting turned down. And, of course, I don't sit around and talk for long, so I guess that makes me look even more like I keep walking around past people.

I agree that the more guys see you get turned down, the less likely they are to get a dance. However, I don't think that means you shouldn't work the room!!

I'm fortunate in that my club is spacious so when I get turned down, I usually approach someone who did not see that. Also, when you leave a guy after getting turned down, don't roll your eyes or look annoyed. Leave with a smile on your face! Next, when I'm taking a guy upstairs for a dance I often walk slow and take the long route so everyone see LOL

sometimes you just have to hide after you've done a few laps!

Or, you could order a water from the bar and drink it, while standing and surveying the land.

That way it looks like you're intentionally taking a break because you're so tired from dancing, not because you're a reject!

Another thing that helps me when I've gotten a good amount of rejection is to switch outfits. They practically think I'm a different dancer LOL

When I read this I interpreted "laps" as "lapdances" rather than as "laps around the room." I was thinking: "Why would Emily advise you to hide when you are on a roll???" LOL

I useds to work with a girl who did this, it was genius! I cant believe none of us noticed her doing it though. I only know because she told me months afterwards.

She also used to change into her bride fantasy outfit for stag night groups, AND charged them for the time it would take for her to change.

Anyway, back to the question. I used to even start my shift with lots of notes on my garter to make me look successful, it really does count to look busy and popular.

How funny. I did that on Friday! I felt weird about not having any cash in my garter when I made my first lap, so I threw together a wad of small bills for "looks". I think it worked well This is probably an old trick, but what the hell!

I've done that. A former co-worker who also did this referred to it as "bait money."

^^^ Worked for me too. Before I ever worked in a club, I used to do that in the tip jar in a coffeehouse I worked at.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. The changing outfits one I will have to try out. I'm not sure how well that will work, though, considering that I'm usually the only asian working. But hey, could do wonders with drunk people lol. I do take breaks and try to hide around the bar, but then again, I'm worried people will see me just standing around. Then again, I don't usually have something to drink there while I'm waiting...so have to try that one, too. Also, I ALWAYS smile when I get turned down and look happy as I'm bouncing away from the person who said no....unless they said something really annoying and stupid, which has happened once.

Yup, I do this too! It makes you look more desireable to guys with more $ to spend (money attracts money) and makes the cheap losers a bit more respectful too, imo. Cheap losers are the ones who NEED to be reminded that you're JUST there for the $ - as they're often the most manipulative.

So should I wear a wad of money with a $20 bill on top facing outward? I'm worried I'd lose that...

Put a rubber band around the money so it won't slip out of your garter.
