I've read on here that arnica is good for bruises, my question is where do I get it??
Does anyone know of anything else? My legs are COVERED! I look like a newbie dancer by the end of every weekend. lol

I go to the local health food/hippie shop.

I get the lotion, which smells fine, and also the little white pellets, they have a coating so its candy like.
Here's the pellets

when you say pellets it makes me think of feeding guinea pigs, hamsters and bunnies
Heading to Whole Foods in the morning, thank you!!

I got mine at Walmart. My doc recommended it for me to take after my BA surgery.

Health food stores always.

yeah, i guess it smells funny but doesn't bother me at all. if im not dancing at all, the bruises disappear in about three days if i'm not dancing (i bruise reaaaaaaaaally easily-so for them to disappear in three days is amazing). in two days they're still visible but not anything where a someone think someone to think a loan-shark was after you. haha

The pellets taste kinda sweet. I notice that if I do the gel/cream and the pellets the bruise goes away even faster.

Chemists often stockit too.
If youre cruising really easily and or badly you may need to increase the amount of vitaminC in your diet. This helps you absorb iron and then you bruise less easilly.

^ i def need to increase my vit c intake, but i'm a really unhealthy eater...so im sure it's why i bruise really easily. but w/ dancing i get purple bruises which i never get normally (aka running into things) but i def need to be healthier so i can enjoy my summer haha.
also to TM: i thought i read somewhere that ingesting arnica-contained products is bad, not sure in what way, but you haven't had any problems?

Bought it and after 48 hours and putting it on 4 times all bruises are completely gone! They usually take about two weeks to go away.
Yaaaay!
If i havent danced for a while I use it before dancing too and take arnica homeopathis pills for a few days prior. It seems to help prevent bad bruising and those awful aches and pains you get after your first night back.
Works so well! I'm surprised by how many non-newbie dancers don't know about this stuff! I was lucky enough to be clued in my first week on the job. Good thing, too, cause I bruise like crazy.
Here is where to get it online. I use this website for all of my vitamins. It's low cost and low shipping.![]()
Search for arnica... they have the gel & the ointment, the difference is that one has petroleum jelly, I believe. I don't take the homeopathic pills -- if you rub the cream on your bruises when you get them, they go away in 2-3 days!!! No purple bruising, just red for a day or so and clears up. It's a real miracle drug.
Otherwise, they sell it over at Whole Foods, but for a bit more.

I always order a twin pack of Arnica Gel from drugstore.com.
Gnc!!![]()
I make my own dit da jao, by taking a large jar of vaseline, taking 1/2 out and chunking it; then adding arnica, cayenne pepper, ginsing, vodka (just a bit), vic's vapor rub, myrrh, comfrey, st john's wart, and witch hazel.
Add all those things to a pot, heat till the vic's and the vaseline melt, then pour back into the jar and let cool back to a solid.
Use 3x daily, and rub in till it is absorbed and they will fade FAST!
It's what we use for MMA classes, but that is my own recipe; modified a bit from standard recipes.
I LOVE arnica for bruises.. I put a little on my shins before work (we have a platform thing around out stage, I bruise every time I crawl around on it) and it helps prevent bruises. Also helps get rid of em after... I use the one from Whole Foods.
