    Default VIP Tipping

A thread about a poor VIP tip in the Hustle Hut forum reminded me of my NYC trip. Trip Report here: http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sho...postcount=3848

I never did figure out what an appropriate tip % is for VIPs. I mean, I know what to do in my clubs, but that was a first-time experience for me. To save you from rereading a lenghty TR, a 30 minute VIP was $325 cash, $365 credit card. I paid by credit card.

    (1) Does cash versus CC payment in this case matter as far as tip goes?

    (2) I tipped $60, but in hindsight I'm thinking $80 or $100 might have been more appropriate. I really enjoyed my VIP and it was worthy of tipping. What does everyone else tip as a % for VIPs?

    (3) I also had the experience of a dancer who sat down while I was eating for a few minutes and explained the club rules and helped me out a bit with the place. I tried to tip her about $5, but she refused. I can't tell if that was an insult for Manahttan or...?

    (4) The VIP manager lady. She freaked me out and I wish she didn't exist at the club. She asked abotu tipping, I gave her $15 on a $365 bill. Low? High? Don't worry about it?

generally if you use your credit car we are charged a percentage to trade the funny money in usually 5-20 percent. my club its 10. so keep that in mind a recoup on that trade in cost is appreciated.

LOL..i still think it was meant to be an insult not a tip, no matter if the guy said he had a good time.

    i thought it was $75 total? 60 cash + 15 CC.

although, i never use CC or an ATM in SC (i just make sure to bring a huge tip roll), but it would if i did use them. $60 in cash sounds about right considering the club's $40 in surcharges for using a CC.

I look at VIP the same way I look at regular dances. Sorry, but I just gave the lady anywhere from $200 to $300 for an hour of her time on top of paying for the room and possibly drinks. In addition to that I have been buying single LD's, drinks and food for her and whomever sits at our table all night. Honestly, I don't generally tip above hourly VIP rate. Call me cheap.

I always pay the lady in cash to avoid club surcharges for both of us and I always tip the waitress in cash as well.

Now, I tend to go on very slow nights and it is not uncommon for us to remain in the room well past the alloted time. If and when this does hapen then I tip the dancer either $50 or $100 depending on how much longer we were in their. I also tip the waitress additional for being cool and not watching the clock.

No offense intended. It's just me. If I'm paying running a credit card at $365 or more for a half hour, it's sorta like looking around my hotel room at a bunch of empty wine bottles. It's an indication that I've got a problem, at least for my lifestyle.

My main consideration (aside from how good a job she did) would be how much the dancer was keeping; if I'm in a club where I know the house takes a larger cut, I make it a point to tip enough to make up the club's cut, whether it be from the total room fee or a credit card service fee cut (fucking clubs, it's retarded how they hit the customers and dancers on that. One of the cool things about where I am now is that they only charge 5% from my end, nothing to the customer, and I'm happy to take that small hit).

However, on the other side of the fence, and as I said in that thread, if I'm getting $200 for a half hour of my time, I'm not feeling undercompensated by a long shot. You tipped, what, 20% of what the dancer gets? I think that's lovely. I do not think many dancers would consider a $60 tip insignificant.

^^^ Amen to that! I guess I've gotten better, but it doesn't happen often. $60 really helps make the night. When your income can be counted in denominations of 100, 60 is over half of one of those denominations which is imo a perfect size tip for a service over a half hour.
