Default Post BA and wire bras

I know I could find this somewhere if I searched, but honestly there are too many boob threads and not enough time. I just spent 15 minutes looking for my answer, and I don't have my glasses here with me.
How long after surgery until I can wear a wire bra? I put an email into my doctor but I'm not sure he'll get back to me in time. I have a fitting for my wedding dress on Thursday. I'm not sure if I'll be wearing a bra or not, and I'm not sure I should even. I can't imagine one day would be a problem right? It would be 6 months post op. I've been wearing sports bras and the IPEX wireless so far. But I need a bra that will work with my halter top gown. I'm not even sure I need a bra though! I'm clueless I don't have any friends to come over and help me out either deciding.

It really depends on your doctor. I've been wearing one out since two weeks after surgery. When I get home I'd put on my sports bra, but wearing one for a night won't hurt them.

Eaxh doctor is different. My doc told me the week after surgery I could get an underwire bra. A friend of mine was told by her doctor she had to wear a sports bra for a month or two.

I just got an email back from him. He said it's up to me. If it's comfortable go for it, if not then don't. It's all personal preference at this point. I didn't expect ot hear from him so soon. Usually it's a little under a week that I hear from him!

I was told I could wear an underwire after 6 weeks. Theres a good chance you wont even need a bra, when I wear halter tops I never wear one and from what I can remember you boobs aren't ridiculously big. Is the top of your wedding dress quite fitted?

I know. I hated the contraption he made me wear, but it was supposed to help dropping. I had a strap on top, and an underwire on bottom. It was like a vice grip. and I couldn't take it off except to shower.

wow how long did you have to wear that thing?! it does not look comfortable.

i went in for a checkup today and asked why i couldnt wear underwire, and he said bc it could stop them from dropping. the only thing i had to wear was the surgical bra for a week, and then after that i switched to sports bras and the ipex wireless, and i dont wear a bra about half the time.

    .
I forgot....too long. Like 2 weeks or something.

But they dropped and I think they look great, so it was worth it.

It's jsut weird how people get different aftercare instructions. Like I was told to massage regularly and some women are told not to massage at all.

I was told because it can force them into the shape of the cup instead of a natural shape. But I'm cleared for it now. I won't be wearing a bra I don't think.
