    Default "Twilight"

I swear all the girls I work with are reading this book. I just got it today. Anyone else read this book?

I just asked my ex to pick up a copy for me from the bookstore near his work so I could read it. Here's hoping I like it, considering I got some spoilers from Breaking Dawn already. >.<

I am not a nerd. In no way did I go to the midnight release party for Breaking Dawn. Yepp, not a tool at all.

I've read it in order to be able to converse with anyone where I live. It's crazed out here. They call those obsessed "twilighters", LOL!! When I go to the movies and the preview for Twilight comes on, everyone screams!

It's a good book, I've also read The Host which is awesome too.

Stephany Meyers has a HUGE following. I dunno if it's because she graduated from BYU and is Mormon or because she has such a creative imagination?

I'm already going to be reading the 4th/last book in the series. Is it horrible that I'm strangely attracted to Edward?!

When I was at the release party, there were all these teens wandering around and I heard one say "as soon as I get the book, I'm not going to stop reading until they have sex." (*shudder*)

I would have enjoyed it more when I was 14. The first book was decent, but I think they get worse as they go on. I read the first part of Breaking Dawn and had to throw it across my room in disgust. Bella is a total Mary Sue and it really friggin annoys me.

It seems like the authors preteen fantasy rather than an actual novel. I borrowed the books, thinking I would buy if I liked them. Nope.

(For those that do not know what a Mary Sue is: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=mary+sue )

You have to keep going in "Breaking Dawn" because trust me it gets better. It was hard for me to read the first part too but once you get past it...

LOL! No not at all! I'm the same way I'm such a nerd when it comes to reading because I get so absorbed into the book that I actually feel the emotions of the characters.

It's about a girl that falls in love with a vampire. You have to read it to really understand!

I read it. One of the kids on our street (A teenager) has a girlfriend who was just gushing to me about this book. So, her over-the-top love of it, the fact that the author lives in my home town and the silly girly love I have of vampire stories.... Yah. I read it.

And I liked it. Not bad at all.

These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

Yes, I read a lot of Anita Blake series until they got really weird. I might have burned myself out on them though since I went through them super fast.

Might have to pick them up again. I think I quit after Cerulean Sins.

Laurell K Hamilton is MUCH more adult than Stephenie Meyer, however.

It sounds really interesting. The only thing that turns me off from it is that it's geared towards teens. Is the writing dumbed down?

ETA: Well, I dunno. Harry Potter is for kids too and adults love it. I'm a huge fan of vampire novels. Anne Rice was my favorite when I was a teen.

^ I don't think her writing is dumbed down. It's just that her characters are teenagers.

I am incredibly disappointed by these books. It made me want to hit something. It was like she threw Breaking Dawn together to capitalize on the Twilight craze.

    Yep. I totally agree.

A girl I work with told me that these books were "her bible" a few days ago. I wanted to hit her.

All the girls at my club were reading "Twilight" too so I picked up a copy this weekend. I read it in a day, and I was really surprised that I LOVED it (I usually like "grownup books" LOL).
Soooo, I picked up the next book in the series, New Moon, and was sadly sadly dissapointed. The storyline in that one seemed weak, and I began to get pissed off at how the main character, Bella, was acting. Always crying, falling down, and acting all around stupid? (No details, don't want to spoil it) Anyhow, I wanted to punch her in the face
Please tell me she toughens up in the later books?
Anyhow, I don't know if I will continue reading the series, unless someone can vouch that they get better.
BUT, I highly recommend "Twilight", and I am actually really excited to see the movie. I'm such a loser

What' funny is when I went to get "New Moon" they didn't have it so I skipped it and and went on to the last two books. She's still whiny but the last book I think is the best. She toughens up alot. Keep reading!
