K and I got a completely bullshit parking ticket yesterday... it was a parking garage and looked exactly like every other parking garage where you take a ticket and pay when you leave. Apparently though you're supposed to pay ahead of time, but there was only one tiny sign that no one could've seen from a moving car and it was under the sign giving the hourly rates - like you pay $5 for the first hour, $10 for three hours, etc. It's clearly some kind of scam where they trick people into parking and not paying ahead of time so they can write them a $72 ticket.
I don't want to pay this ticket because it's bullshit and we need that money for legitimate expenses. Do we have to go to court and contest it? What happens if we just don't pay it? We'll be gone from this city in a few weeks anyway and I have zero desire to return to Seattle. So if we just ignore it, what are the potential consequences?
