    Default Motivational Sticky

Just a suggestion I'm throwing out here. Maybe we could have some type of motivational sticky thread that might combine a list of goals and reasons why one should go to work and not call out? This idea came from seeing different month's goals threads as well as a specific post where someone asked people to basically tell her that she should go to work and not call out.

OMG, I thought of this today! I wanted to start a similar thread.

Today, I had a headache and generally did not feel like getting into stripper mode. Once I left my neighborhood I wanted to turn around, but kept pushing myself & blocking out all those little "excuses" floating around in my head. I reminded myself how those excuses have NEVER helped me achieve ANYTHING. They have only held me back.

I think the single BIGGEST motivator (for me at least), is to just get my ass ready (hair & makeup) and get in my car. Once I walk in the door to the club - I'm fine. It's just that "getting ready" time, when I start that self-defeating inner dialogue.

I am so glad I went to - sat on my ass all afternoon and banked! More motivation for tomorrow!

    I really like this idea!
    Okay, here are mine...

    - I will repeat Pink's "Keep your drink, just give me the money" song in my head to avoid getting sloshed and unmotivated. Or worse, wasting time with broke folk.

    - If too many dudes say "Not right now" I will change my out-fit. Because it will make me feel better, and trick the morons into thinking it's a different chick.

    - I will look at the crowd and strategistly select my music for their taste, not my own.

Sticky: You can't make any money while sitting here!

and put that sticky where ever you need to get your ass moving (computer, TV, Dressing room mirror etc.).

    My sticky-

"Your landlord wants to talk to you."

"The bills always come on time."

"What the hell else are you going to do today that will pay off like a decent to great night at work?"

"Your money will end up in someone else's pocket."

*I need to make money to go shopping in NYC and OC in one week. I don't feel like having to use money that I don't actually have.

*I could use the exercise...even though it's not much

*If I stayed home, I might study for an hour, or so, but after that, I'd just be playing computer games or watching TV

*Even if I only make $200, it's still more than I walked in with

*I want to try out some new things from HH

my wedding anniversary is coming up... I want us to go to this great antebellum bed and breakfast plantation house for the week of our aniversary..... and not worry about money or the outside world.

i want to finish getting my antique VW restored....that takes money to buy parts, even if I do the work myself

I have a schedule, so it doesn't apply to me at the moment, but I always asked myself, "What would i do instead?" If it was sit on my ass and watch TV when I wasn't exhausted or in physical pain... I went in. I can be lazy at work and still make money.

Set reasonable goals. Don't make yourself work without rewards. Also if you skip out on work don't reward yourself. Example if you skip work just because you are not in the mood,(as opposed to really being sick or a I just can't miss it opportunity), don't reward yourself by going out or taking part in a hobby .Instead
do work you normally avoid like cleaning the oven or straighting out your taxes. By contrast, if you can talk yourself into making to work take something with you that you enjoy. Like I always took a book or magazine then I would make little goals for myself, if I approach 5 tables then I can come back and spend ten minutes reading. I usually up the number as the night went on if I needed to but lots of times I'd find my groove and be ok.
