What was the best diet or diet and exercise book you have read? Its time for another good food read.
I've read so far:
The Body Sculpting Bible for Women
The Body Sculpting Bible for Abs
What have you read that you have liked?

I never really learned about diet/fitness/nutrition from actual books. I learned everything I know from Fitness Magazines-- and of course, the military kept us on our toes about our weight as well. We had very strict fitness guidelines to follow. We even had a "Fat-Boy Program" if someone couldn't pass the tests.

the alli diet plan. it says you shouldn't take it unless you are like 25lbs overweight but i just wanted to drop like 5lbs. i took it anyway and lost the weight i wanted...i think it mainly just scares you into eating right so you dont shit your pants lol

I've always liked the Atkins Books. I know they are controversial however I believe if you follow the plan exactly the way the books tells you to (start off with only 20 net carbs per week and then slowly ramp it up to eventually include higher carb foods) it can be a very healthy lifestyle. I like that it is more than a "diet"...if done right it is an eating plan for life.
I've been following Atkins since April and I feel better then I ever have. I feel healthy and am starting to grow comfortable with my own body again.
The problem is people think Atkins means cutting out ALL carbs and eating a bunch on bacon. When in reality the focus is to get carbs from nutrious foods like fruits, vegatables, nuts and legumes. They also stress how important it is to be active and actually exercise along with eating well. However I FULLY realize that Atkins isn't for everyone. It works for me though.

I don't really do diet books for obvious reasons, but I really thought that The Pilates Body by Brooke Siller was absolutely AMAZING. She stays totally true to Joseph Pilates techniques, it's very accurate, very tarditional and GREAT because it breaks down the basic excercises of "The Mat" into basic, intermediatte and advanced while staying true to the core of the method. Love it!

Bikini Fit! This book changed my life. It's such a simple little 4 week plan, but it was super informative &really easy for me to read, because diet/exercise books confuse me very easily. Also, Making the Cut by Jillian Michaels. The meal plan is way too detailed to follow, but there's a lot of great, effective exercises in there, &it's really motivating.

Metabolic Typing. A must-read.
I also like the Atkins book, the 2002 version.

it says to keep your fat grams below 15 a meal but if you screw up you can have "wet farts" and diahrrea so i was like oh crap, ill keep mine below 11...i never had a problem though thank God!

I can make you thin by Paul Mkenna (I think I spelt his last name wrong). Its a book about common sense and the obvious but its good to be reminded.
A civilian spends money to look good
A stripper looks good to make money
A civilian may be after your wage
A stripper laughs at your wage
^^ I've heard good things about I Can Make You Thin, the show.
I love The Black Book of Hollywood Diet Secrets. Yeah it sounds like a total scam book but if just has interviews with trainers and celebs asking for their best advice. It was nice having a lot of different tips as opposed to one specific diet they preached.
Skinny Bitch is a motivating funny book, but that promotes a vegan diet. Even if you don't want to be vegan it is a fun book.
8 minutes in the morning by Jorge Cruise. It basically says do 6 sets of anarobic exercise as soon as you get out of bed. It builds muscle and boosts your metabolism for the rest of the day.
I doubt he got that ripped doing "8 minutes in the morning," more like, 45 minutes in the morning, but its a good start.
