Looks promising. Has anyone used it and it worked for you? Also do u know if it is safe with generic birth control?

I tried Claritin before and it did NOTHING for my allergies. I LOVE Zyrtec though. You buy that OTC too.

It works ok, but it makes me sleepy. Kinda like cold medicine. Its fine with birth control.

Oh, this helps me. Saw a commercial for Z. I was on this day time med, (Alavert)it melts in your mouth so you don't need water to take it. Wasn't working that well. I love Benedryl but it puts me to sleep, so night/downtime use only. I also take at least 1,000 mg vitamin C, & Queceterin (an herbal allergy med)

^I used to use Benadryl too. It got to the point that earlier this summer, even Benadryl didn't work anymore. Now, isnt' that crazy. I bought the Zyrtec and it was smooth sailing!

I'm gonna be honest here, I was on Claritin and it made me constipated! Stay away, far, far away from Claritin.

I use Claritin daily , within 10 min. i am all destuffed and can breathe again. They don't make me drowsy, however if I take one and then go to sleep, I sleep alot longer. They don't constipate me either. I get the generic brand at wal mart 60 pills for 10 bucks.

I'm on claritin right now, and it's not helping for me. I like Zyrtec and Singulair the best.

Just want to add that I have been taking Claritin for 3 days, and I see NO difference whatsoever. WTF is up with this shit?
I hate taking meds but I'm going to have to drug myself to work tonight because I'd be snotty and sniffly otherwise. Going to get some Zyrtec.

Different brands have different active ingredients and this can have an effect on how well they work Claritin has Loratadine in it, Zirtec has cetirizine dihydrochloride . Sometimes they stop working and you have to use a different brand for a while. Most antihistamines also come in non-drowsy formulas now.
Me and my daughters suffer from various allergies and find we have to change prescriptions from season to season.
AlexxaHex it sounds like it isn't an allergic reaction and possibly something like a cold or nasal infection. Could be your sinuses?

It's definitely seasonal allergies. I've had them for as long as I can remember, always when the weather starts to cool down from summer. I have no reason to suspect infection. Why would you say otherwise?

Anyway I found a non-pseudoephedrine based decongestant and just take that now since my main symptom is runny nose. I'm dealing with the itching. I was afraid to take the Zyrtec because they didn't have a non-drowsy formula. Benadryl has always worked the best but I can only take it at night.

Hmm. I'm now taking 'Wal-tin', a generic Claritin from Walgreens. I was using Allevert, it doesn't seem to work now. I take 1/2 a generic Benedryl 'Waladryl'. It's in caplets, so I can halve it. My allegeries get horrendous around my period. I take additionally, many thousands mg of vit. C, & garlic pills. I also use a nasal spray that works pretty good, NasalCrom. You take it a few X's a day

Just mentioned it because last year I was in a real state and kept taking the tablets but nothing worked. Eventually went to the doctor and it turned out I had sinusitis which needed antibiotics.
