    Default SC smell in Hair

When I get home from work, I always shower, and I literally wash my hair three times (and then apply conditioner) to try to get the SC smell out of my hair. However, I can ALWAYS smell SC in my hair after my shower, despite my bordering-on-OCD cleansing.

My SO has no idea what I'm talking about--he can't smell it on my hair. But I'm not crazy! It definitely doesn't smell that strong, but I hate that that smell lingers!

Does anyone else have this problem?

How do you get that smell (I'm assuming y'all know what I'm talking about) out??

Damn! Try rinsing your hair with white vinegar after shampooing and washing that out. Then blow dry.

(I wear a lot of styling product in my hair at work, which might "shelter" the hair from absorbing odor. Try coating your hair with a protectant.)

Febreeze. Sounds stupid but it works. Don't spray it DIRECTLY onto your hair - spray it in the general DIRECTION.

Like the perfume-cloud-jump-through sort of deal.

i used pretty much any clarifying shampoo. it seems to work. what i hate the most is when i can still smell it on my hands after using shampoo, body wash, and lotion. it takes a day for me to get rid of the smell of my hands.

If it's smokey smell, a vinegar rinse (I use Apple Cider, but white works, too) and then conditioner works for me.

Yes the apple cider is a great rinse and once a month I would wash with a chelating (works deeper than a clarifying poo) shampoo.. I have thick curly afro texture and this worked for me.

i know this sounds weird, but one time i was in a hurry and didn't have time to wash my clip in hair extensions. i have 2 dogs so i have dog deoderizing spray for them that smells like peaches...i sprayed it on the extensions and it took the club smell right out of them.

But with the Febreeze and Dog spray ideas--those are really just covering up the smells, right?

What bothers me is the thought that there is something in my hair that is making it smell like the club. I want to get it out!

And Lysondra--I use three different shampoos when I wash my hair--still doesn't do the trick!

I also recommend febreeze and blow drying your hair.

The smoke in the club permeates everything and is difficult to remove if you have a sensitive sense of smell. I do, and in order to get rid of the smell I have to really wash my hair well. I mean like a couple of times and really saturate and rub the shampoo in which is really bad for your hair. I cannot wait for smoking to be illegal inside of businesses everywhere. I recently visited a SC in Honolulu. The state had recently made smoking inside of businesses illegal. It was nice that there was no smoking but I could still smell that smell even though there was no more smoking because the smoke permeates the furniture and carpet for a long time and it is hard to remove that smell.

Actually the febreeze dosent cover the "stank" up - so you don't get that smoke, club, funky smell underneath the frebreeze.

I do it once when I get home before I shower and then once afterwards. My hair is long and I can't stand that yuck smell right next to my face.
