My motivation is needing clothes to wear. I did 6 loads yesterday and 4 today...

Oh my - you have to leave to do it. I remember those days. I went once I REALLY had nothing to wear.

Do treat yourself. I used to have to take my laundry once a month down the road to the laundry mat on a bike trailer. It would take several hours and cost as much as $30. I would just bring a good book and sit through it. One time, a kid tried to mug me for the bike trailer. I was so pissed off from having spent all the time doing my laundry and hauling it back and forth, I stood on the street and yelled the kid down. There was no way I was going to give up that precious bike trailer (the ONLY method I had to haul my laundry). He backed down and I returned the bike back to my friend who was kind enough to loan it to me so many times before.
The moral of the story is: be very careful on big laundry days! It can be quite the adventure.

Whoops...some laundry from last Thursday still hasn't been put away...yeah I;m pretty bad.

I have to drive to MIL's house to do laundry because it's cheaper than the laundromat and I don't have a set in my unit. Usually my motivation is that R and I both need clean work clothes. And since I get really dirty at work 9and so does he) we HAVE to do it weekly.

On the other hand, if you have to wake up early, I wouldn't do that lol.

I tend to unload all of my clean clothes on my bed, make an attempt at folding everything that night. I usually end up with about half of my clothes folded, and I fall asleep on my pile of clothes. I wake up in the morning to find all of my clean and unfolded garments on the floor, just like they were in the first place when I went to gather them to be washed the night before. WHat can I say? I'm a hot mess.
Haha, my fav way to do laundry is drunk. Maybe I'll have a glass (or 3) of wine. Mmm I wish the liquor store was open, I'd go shopping!

I've totally fallen asleep on my clean clothes, which is why I've now given up and put them on the floor instead of the bed. They're gonna end up there anyway lol.

My only motivation is the need for clean socks, towels and sheets. But I'm more likely to buy new ones when I run out. When I'm sick of spending the $$$, I'll head to the laundry mat. I haven't been in MONTHS!

Here's my motivation that should inspire you.. I went on vacation for 2 weeks, came back, waited 2 weeks to do laundy and my friends asked me to go to happy hour. The only thing I had left was running shorts and a "I climb for breast cancer 2003" shirt.
I ended up doing laundry instead of going out, and I'm in the same boat my apartment doesn't have the washer and dryer conveniently located so laundry is a royal pain in the ass.

I used to love doing laundry when I had an apartment w/ a washer and dryer. Now it 's the bane of my existence.

I don't mind doing the laundry per se, but I HATE folding and putting it away. We have a massive pile of dirty laundry but I only wash what I wear and my husband's work clothes.

However, this time around I'm cleaning everything out and I'm donating stuff I don't wear to goodwill (so I don't have to fold it) or selling on ebay! I've eliminated a BUNCH of stuff so far and it feels pretty good. That's the only thing that keeps me motivated

I'm the opposite. I'm a compulsive laundry doer. As soon as I see I have enough cloths for a load, I throw it in. My husband swears I'm not happy unless the washing machine is running

I have to plan ahead for a "laundry day". A day I don't work and I don't fill up my day with any other plans. Sometimes I also have to reward myself every time I take a trip to the laundry room to bring clothes in or out or to switch them to the dryer. (Like, "I get to finish this show if I go out and switch the clothes right afterwards and then I get to start that netflix movie when i get back")

    I hate doing laundry.

I haven't done laundry since I moved...the washer and dryer are in the creepiest basement I've ever seen. It's 75 years old, has one really dim light bulb and is just...creepy as hell. I won't go down there. It looks like something straight out of an episode of Paranormal State. I'd rather go to a laundromat than spend five minutes shoving laundry into the washer down in that basement.

Of course, going to a laundromat requires more motivation than just walking down the stairs, so I haven't done that yet either. I've still got a few semi-clean outfits left, so...

I'm actually a whole lot better with keeping up with my laundry since I moved. I have so many clothes, and this apartment has a HUGE walk-in closet which made it so much easier to keep things organized. I even have three separate hampers-one for towels, one for whites and the other one is for the rest.

ETA: And I do have a w/d in my unit. That was a must-have when I was apt. hunting. If I didn't, the clothes would be piling up.

Ah, good old California. Those are the things I remember about the dumb young dudes there.

I actually have to lug my laundry by suitcase- it rolls (love that Samsonite.) & I need to go do it NOW before my costumes get permanent bar stench in them. (I think the Spandex absorbs the smell of SCs more than a natural fabric might hold it....)

PS Ladies, beware of using baking soda and vinegar on all costumes- it kills the odor but it faded my gold metallic tube to chrome-colored. Now it matches my chrome shoes, but I would have preferred it otherwise.

Heh, it's one of my requirements too! I got lucky, this apt came with a w/d, but the apts HAVE to at least have hookups.

I also have 3 hampers, but mine's one of those separated hampers with 3 sections. One's for whites, one's for darks, ones for lights. Heh.
