    Default Top coat/black light

Ok, I know this has been covered before, somewhere... I searched but I was not able to find my answer. Actually, I have 2 questions. The first is the obvious one that has been covered before. Which topcoat does not glow at work? My old nail place would use the one that did not glow, but my new place, which I love, is clueless on the matter.

Second, the last two times I got my nails done they seem to be picking up fuzz and the top coat doesn't seem dry. Has anyone had this problem? I need to know what to look out for. I want to just bring my own top coat.

    Thanks in advance!

I use yello-out and YES it does glow!! It is a clear acrylic top coat which dries in 2 or 3 mins.

are you getting acrylic? if so stop and splurge for the pink and white set and ask for the buffing cream instead of a top coat. your nails are super shiny without having to use a topcoat and they dont glow..its about 35 for a full set and 25 for fill in

solar nails don't glow.. there's no paint or polish to do so. Plus they don't turn that yucky yellow color if you tan.

If you get a gel topcoat on your acrylics, they won't glow. They apply it with a brush and "cure" it under a UV light. It also won't pick up fuzz, and it's so durable that not even acetone takes it off.

the UV topcoat is usually in the brown bottle. When you see it, ask for the regular top coat.

Sometimes I forget to ask until I see it.

I like the gel topcoat too.

Ok, this is a little more complicated than I first thought. My nails are very short and natural looking with an acrylic overlay. This last time she did use the one in the brown bottle; now I know to just say no to that.
I have an aversion to the light thing. Maybe they are using gel and I am not properly curing the top coat. Hopefully, I can just ask for the regular top coat and not the gel.

Gel doesn't glow. UV top coats do. Get her to get out the machine that cures gels and have her hold the bottle or brush under the UV light. If it glows, don't let her use it.

Make sure if they're glowing when now to have her drill them down really thin to get all the glow stuff out.

Yeah I get gel and mine glow in blacklight too... I mean even when they're curing it under the UV machine, those things can be seen across the room from under the machine.

The only reason I used to hate it is because I got a shoddy nail lady that thought if you couldn't see it, it didn't need to be perfect. Two days later at work I'd see splotchy glowing.

I still think the best way to check, because all brands and salons are different, is under the UV curing light or the lighted table where you go to dry your nails. It's the same kind of light as a blacklight, and you can tell right then and there.
