i went shampoo free. it's only been a week maybe a lil more. but i have very greasy skin and hair. i don't mess too much with my hair. i'm just a wash and go girl. don't color my hair either. so you'd think it would be really healthy right? wrong. always dry frizzy. it's medium thick i guess. medium texture, you know like each individual strand. naturally wavy. so i said forget shampoo. if i havn't heat styled it in years or colored it. the only thing that could be drying it out is shampoo. well now i take two to three table spoons of baking soda with about six cups of water. put it in a jug shake it good. then dump it on my wet hair in the shower. leave it on while i wash my body. rinse it good. then take two to three table spoons of lemon juice. mix it with the six cups water and do the same. rinse good. and in just a weeks time it's not greasy. not as clean though. i don't get that squeek. so i had to get used to that. but no bad smell. it's so soft and fluffy already. about 90% of the frizz is gone. i'm happy with it. and my mom is surprised at how clean it looks and feels. she's a real clean freak. so she would NEVER do this with her hair. you have to experiment though. at first i was using more baking soda and vinegar. didn't work too good. today i was a bit greasy so i made a liquidy paste with the baking soda and scrubbed my scalp then rinsed as usual. oh yeah my hair is shoulder lenght too. sorry this is so long. but it might help someone with dry hair like mine.
