I've seen a few posts lately about girls who just never, from childhood, liked or could handle meat. I am the same way. I grew up in a very meat based family. My dad hunted and for our other meat we slaughtered cattle that we raised.
I have always hated meat and as a child went to great lengths to avoid eating it. As a toddler, I spit it out or spit it up. I vividly remember throwing up all over my dinner plate after my mom made me eat chicken. I would slowly and carefully hide the meat served to me at dinner in my napkin or discreetly throw it on the floor for the dogs and cats.
At 17, after years of hiding that I'd been throwing away my meat, I told my parents I would never eat it again. My mom was cool with it, and my dad does whatever she says.
I tried to eat a few pieces of chicken a few days ago and threw up from it.
I eventually learned about the cruelty of meat eating and incorporated that into my non meat eating philosophy, but the main reason still is that I hate meat.
Although a few years ago I started *very* occasionally eating fish because I was getting sick, I have been pretty disgusted by meat my whole life.
Anyone else just dislike meat?
