    Default Comfortable dressy MEN'S shoes?

I'm seeing a guy who does banking by day and bartending by night. He's on his feet all the time and needs comfy shoes for both occasions. His day job is suit and tie, and he needs comfy dress shoes for that. His bartending job is a bit more casual, but they still need to be basic black leather shoes.

Any suggestions for brands that will save his feet? Orthopedic is fine as long as they don't look too dorky, and price isn't a problem.

Input from the classy men like TOO would be much appreciated.

I second this. I only own two pairs of daily wear shoes right now and they're both men's shoes by Nunn Bush. They're cheap-ass ($30-60 depending on whether you get them at Ross or at a regular store) but reliably comfortable and they look all right.

Eccos are better, men's and women's, if you can lay down the cash for them. My best shoes ever were Eccos, but they cost a bunch of money and they wear out pretty quickly -- they're just sooooo comfy in the meantime.

I didn't read responses so forgive me if it's been mentioned.

The Cole Haan Nike Air shoes. They're well made (in italy), beautiful, and feel like sneakers after they break in.

I own several pairs myself, SOOOOOOOOOO comfy. Every single guy I introduce to that line calls me back to thank me. Many of those guys are sales people who are in those shoes mrning till night and need them to look good.

I LOVE my Mark Nasons. To me they're super comfy and look great. He'll probably have to get separate pairs of shoes for the bank and for the bar but that's better for extending the life of the shoe. I have worn a pair of more subdued boots with a suit before though. Otherwise my staple "play adult" shoes are a pair of Italian-made Bruno Bordese's. I've been on my feet for tens of hours in those for days on end and loved how comfortable they are. Come to think of it Nasons are made in Italy so I guess you get what you pay for.

I just bought these and love 'em:

I will be checking the links in this thread out for sure, thanks everyone!

Here's mine, Capezio Oxfords, I haven't bought them but I think I will monday.

Many years ago I had a very nasty motorcycle accident which left me pretty much unable to lift my left foot, so the lighter the shoe I wear the more agile I can remain. The story of my life since then has been the Quest for the Perfect Shoe, lol. But seriously, they are impossible to find.

The vast majority of men's shoes are so thick-soled and clunky I refuse to even look at them, except boots which take care of everything physically other than dress occasions, and wrestling or boxing shoes with the same limited use for work, etc.

An old SO who was really into dance advised me to buy men's dance shoes which worked quite well. I got them from Capezio, several different kinds, the best and most durable being the men's tap shoes with the fucking tap things removed of course. Actually as I recall they came without them, but I have no idea what the usual way they come is.

But then a few years later I tried the tap shoes again and they didn't make them anymore, the kind I got looked great but even without the stupid tap things they were so slick-soled that I called them my Suicide Shoes, lol. The slightest amount of moisture underfoot and I was at serious risk of wiping out. I even tried sanding the bottoms, filing slight grooves, didn't matter. So I gave up.

Just now though I did a search and found these Capezio Oxfords. They look like they are pretty close to being normal dress shoes, just a lot lighter weight and thus automatically more comfortable.
