    Default Still nervous. . .

I have been dancing now for few weeks, but I still get extremely nervous before I go on. Once I even ran off the stage to the back in the middle routine. I don't know how to get myself calmed down. With a few I can stand it, but I just lose it some times. I have given a few lap dances now which are fine. I don't know, short of getting drunk before I go on anyone have any sure fire ways of getting my nerves tamed down a bit.

No, the fear will subside. I would suggest you not turn to the bottle for your courage. That will just add to more problems later on down the line. You shouldn't HAVE to drink to do this job.

Just smile and do your thing.

Cinammonkisses is right. I used to be like that when I first started dancing. I could never go on stage without having a few drinks...and you don't want to rely on that everytime. Its not healthy.

Just take a deep breath and relax. You'll eventually get to the point where you won't feel nervous anymore and you'll be able to go on stage like its nothing.

The more you go on stage without drinking, the more the nervousness will go away. It will take some time, but you'll get it.

I have been dancing for 4 weeks...and I have major anxiety/panic issues. I will get very nervous when the club is busy - so I work on day shift (for now at least), until I can get really comfortable.

As the other people said, avoid having to have drinks to work. Not only are you setting yourself up to "have" to have a cocktail to work, but it'll also make you bloated if you're having alcohol everytime you work.

When I get nervous on stage, I dance closer to the back of the stage, or turn around and face the mirror/wall. I also will "block out" the crowd and look above everyone and pretend no one is there...

Just take it slow, having fun and enjoying yourself is important. We all get nervous, its just part of job. But turning to the bottle, your just asking for it. Plus you never know if some custie might put something in it or even one of the other dancers. You just need to calm down and remember why your there, to make money. The more they see you on stage the better the chances are to sell dances and so on. Think of it as advertising yourself while on stage. The more exposer usually equals more money.

If you are ok with lap dancing, you will do just fine. Approaching customers and doing those dances are the most important and lucrative part of the job. Stage can be fun and good advertising but not that important. Some girls will always have stage fright and you can use that energy to give a better performance or you can try to avoid going n stage by tipping the DJ extra.

Thanks IvoryDancer, I never thought about tipping the DJ. I have been getting better though, they asked me to come in tomorrow to work. Which I only work Friday and Saturday's, so I must be doing something right. I don't know how long I will stay though with my day job stating at 7am. The manager said he would give me an extra $100 if I came in so you can't beat that.

Still I need to work on my nerves and drinking seems to be just a quick fix that could lead to worser things. Just this weekend I know one of the girls was a little drunk while in a the VIP room. I happened to walk in on her and she was getting a little too friendly. I found out she was rather known for going to far to get a few extra dollars when she drank.

I like to remind myself that a hot naked woman can do no wrong in their eyes.
