Default How to keep going when everything around you is falling apart

How do you pick yourself and keep going when literally everything that could go wrong has gone wrong?

I am facing immense challenges right now. I have made giant mistakes and I need to start working hard to amend them and get by.

This has taken a toll on me. Every morning when I wake up I immediately start to worry about my problems. I want to be myself but I feel like I'm losing myself in a myriad of problems.

hmmm. I feel for you. what helps me in your situation
is to make a list with your immediate, say like today and tomorrow,
goals and then weekend goals, goals for the month and
goals hat aren't necessary to your survival but would
feel good if you checked them off (for me it's library fines
    and buying a weight scale.)
keep em all on the same page and carry it with you and
make a habit of immediately crossing them off wen you've
done one to encourage a sense of immediacy.

then just power through the bestyou can.

I also find rewards helpful, like I have to take care of
all my immediate goals and then I can do this fun thing
on the weekend (make sure to put that on your list too.)

I also find acting like a princess or someone special
and silly helps me out. like princesses cant give up
and they can't throw temper tantrums. they can ask
for help and still be regal.

right now in my head I'm a certain celebrity's girlfriend
so I say I don't want to be broke or owe people money
because I want mr. x to be proud of me. or I do things
that better myself and make me more interesting not because
its easy or fun but I want to b better for mr. x.

granted, it makes me seem loony tunes but it does
    motivate

First of all, give yourself a little time to freak the hell out- get it out of the way...

I'm a ridiculous worrier, a gene I'm sure my mother passed to me. Whenever I start feeling overwhelmed I just keep reminding myself that my situation is only temporary... It becomes my mantra.

Take up an exhaustive sport that channels aggression? That has helped me a lot numerous times.

The list idea is great. The very act of writing things down helps people towards goals, that's been proven.

I have been in situations like you are in way more times than I like to think about. I have a temper, especially where machines breaking down is concerned. Throwing things, extremely loud profanity, people nearby shying away--or worse yet, in Daytona, yelling and throwing things at you before you even get started, just for the joy of seeing someone in trouble. Once I had a flat, which ruined an extremely promising liaison, it was but the latest in an endless chain of car trouble. A passing car threw a full (but freshly opened of course) can of beer at high velocity, the initial velocity of the car of course being the worst. Hit me square in the back.

Ok, I digress. But that's but one vignette in an endless chain of bullshit that I brought on myself, ultimately by choosing illustration as an initial career. So there was lots of yelling and throwing things and getting mad, lots of times.

But I did find that eventually, there's only so much trouble that can catch you by surprise, if you constantly expect trouble. But if you handle it the right way, instead of getting depressed you get ready.

Not that I'm now an expert or anything. I still yell and throw things once in a while.

I will say this, the more money you make the less it happens. So try to make as much as you can.
