How effective is it really?
Very! Well, mace at least. My mom used to be a postal carrier and when I was 12 I had a huge party and someone thought it'd be funny to spray her mace in my house. One tiny little spray and we were all running out of the house, opening the windows and our eyes were all red, irritated, etc. Had they sprayed it at anyone in particular, it would have been bad news! I mean, that little spray took over my whole house!

That is great lol. After dancing for three years Ive finally decided I need something more useful then a pocketknife.

Yucky..this reminds me of when I was in middle school. We had just came back from lunch recess and come upstairs (3rd floor) and some dumb ass sprayed mace all through the halls. That was my one and only time experiencing it. We had to open all the windows on the floor.

One time some guys came over after working at.... well, I don't know what you would call it. It was like paintball but with pepperspray pellets. I couldn't understand how I kept coughing uncontrollably until they admitted it and were kicked outside.
I would suggest trying it out when you get a can.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
I guess this is all from the "fogger" pepper spray right? It the regular just as strong? Like if I do get attacked and I spray into his face and run he will be in to much pain to catch me right???

Sounds like Pepperballs. Sadly, they appear to be for sale to law enforcement agents only.

i saw a study where they used mace a taser and a stun gun on a guy to see which was the most affective and he said without a doubt, the mace was the worst by far!
Dude, pepper spray is insane. I bought a little canister of pepper gel (because the guy said it was better than spray, though I don't remember why, and hopefully I'll never have to know) and when I removed it from the packaging, I noticed there was a little crust of dried gel on the nozzle. So I picked it off with my finger and went about my business, which included chewing my fingernails and touching my face for some reason. Holy shit. Within seconds, my mouth was burning, my finger that I touched the stuff with was inflamed, and I had this red welt on my face from where I touched my face with the finger that had formerly come in contact with the crust of pepper goo. And I mean... the amount of crusty goo I touched was like the size that the following letter will appear on your screen:
o <--- yes, that it how much pepper spray goo I touched
Drought was over. Where was I? Drinks were on the house.
For mixers, my love, you'd poured--what?--even the rain.

Mace never did anything to me (I inadvertently got sprayed and inhaled it pretty badly because I was screaming). I just kept right on going - it didn't deter me from what I wanted to do; admittedly I was in survival mode, and the adrenaline was pumping. But that's how an attacker will be, probably, so if it didn't stop me, it certainly won't stop him. That fact scared me, and that's when I talked to a cop who told me that pepper spray will drop someone to his knees, make him foam, swell his eyes, etc. Now I carry that.
He won't be able to run for long (naturally, depending how close and how accurately you nailed him in the eyes and mouth), and really, if you weaken him a bit or get just a couple feet of distance from him or a few more seconds ahead, that can make all the difference in the outcome - even if he's still pursuing.

Before I knew what mace was, my aunt had it on a keychain and I thought it was perfume so I sprayed it on my neck.. not fun at all. I felt like I was choking and could barely breathe. Lesson learned.![]()

Watch someone get pepper-sprayed. It's intense. And it lingers for days!
You can get some really cool combos, too. UV markers, bear mace, laser guidance. haha.

^Oh! Where can I buy that?

I got mine at a hardware store that also sold stuff like fire extinguishers, helmets and other safety stuff.
