The last pair of workout shoes that I bought were a pair of nike shox. around 90 bucks. its kind of expensive considering that I wear kid sizes and kids shoes cost less.
but workout shoes are important... I need something comfortable so I can get the most out of my work out. I used to also run track and got terrible shin splits from time to time so the right shoes are necessary for me.
I usually just buy basic adidas shoes for running and/or walking. Because, well, that's pretty much how I exercise every day. I don't need anything really snazzy.

i voted 1-25. my last pair of gym shoes were $9 from steve and barrys and i like them just fine. the only time i wear sneaks are at the gym so i don't think buying a super souped up pair is justified for me.
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

I picked $26-50 because I don't really work out. I did for a few weeks before my wedding, but that was it. If I took working out more seriously (maybe in the future), I probably would invest in better shoes. I just settled for no-namers.

I chose $75-$100 but I just remembered I bought a pair of Air Max 97s for $150. I loved those sneakers. I know Nike is a bad brand to buy from but I don't like how any other brand looks. Except for New Balance 574s and those aren't for working out.

I didn't vote. My mommy always buys my workout/running shoes. She knows I won't buy boring stuff like that with my own money.![]()
$100 plus.
I run a lot, about 150 to 175 miles a month. I figure it's worth the extra investment. I've found a brand that fits my running style really well too so it's hard to want to try something new. Also the running store we buy from is a bit more expensive but they offer a policy where if you find out they aren't fitting right, within a month, you can return them. Even if they're dirty and pretty used. They also have people there trained to help you find the best fit.

$75-$100
They seem to take a better beating and definitely well worth it. Especially if you go frequently, or hard.

I get a professional discount so I'd never consider spending over $100. But i don't get a discount on Vibram 5 Fingers so they are $80.
Like $60, I usually go to Ross, or Famous Footwear for shoes, so I get good quality for less.

100+ always, I've never spent less.

I'm in Canada, so the poll should go up above $200 for cross trainers. lol...
I use asics , don't know the model, but they were the most expensive ones.
got them for $150 on my last trip to LA
Oh Canada, we stand on cars and freeze...

When I was running competitively, I went to a running store too. For me, it was really important to make sure I had the best fit. And they let me return my shoes too, even after running through mud. I was actually pretty shocked. But, it's worth the investment. I have friends who have had the same running shoes for five years and they work out a lot and complain about their feet/shins/knees hurting. Shoes make a big difference imo.
Eeeek, five years!? I agree though, I didn't believe in getting expensive running shoes until my bf forced me to get some (he paid hehe), and i've had way fewer injuries since then. I had stress fractures in my feet a couple years ago so i try to baby them now. I'm not saying expensive is the way to go, just getting the right fit for YOU is, and for me that has turned out to be expensive.
Running stores have great return policy, i've been so impressed with them, nothing worse than a bad fit!

The most I ever personally paid was for some Saucony's at around 30 dollars, great sale, woohoo!
My most expensive pair are my current Nikes which were paid for by an ex of mine. Awww.
20 bucks
Over a hundred.
I haven't been running as much as I used to, but I am a total believer in throwing them out and getting new ones every 1200 miles (read that in Shape magazine in high school and always think of it). I actually dont get running shoes, I get cross trainers bc I do many things at the gym.
I have bad knees and my back isn't too great either, so I'm not going to work out in shoes that don't give me a lot of support. I favor Adidas cross trainers because they have a lot of spring.

$9-16 from Payless. Easy to throw out and replace. Running doesn't occupy any place in my workout routine; otherwise I would invest significantly more.
None of my mechanics issues have to do with workout shoes. Stripper shoes are an entirely different matter because of bone issues in my feet.

51-75 .. I like sales.

Trainers are expensive in Australia. Nikes are almost $200. The most I've spent is $250 on Asics for running.
There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.
Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.
