Reading the other posts, maybe I am the exception but I am against reading on the floor. It has almost lost me money in the past on more than one occasion.
It makes you look like you are more interested in the book than the customers and you cannot seriously expect someone to approach you when you look like you're engrossed in something else. The ones I've heard from customers heard have been "you looked like you didn't want to be disturbed", "I wasn't sure if you were working".
That being said, I did have a customer who used to bring his 'porn bag' into the club and once or twice we'd read his porno/lad's mags in the private room. I guess for me that's the exception![]()
That's interesting, because I've been approached quite often by men who weren't interested before. Also, when it was dead in the club, I would read on stage while doing pole tricks, and almost always landed a tipper (and subsequently, dances). Maybe it depends on the club?
I used to read a book. It could be a good idea, cause you don't let your mind get consumed by negative thinking, when you are focusing on something else.
I specially liked to read motivational books, for the same reason. I think it worked.
