    bad days or wrong career

I've only experienced one club. Hopefully this tuesday works out for me and I get hired at the Pony. I'm certain dancing will be more fruitful for me here, but there's still a possibility tthat it won't. So what I want to know is how do you determine if you're just in the wrong club, having a bad week, or just simply in the wrong career?

yeah, August blows, but that's only comparing it to other months.

Hopefully you can still make ends meet and have change to spare with August money.

well, i enrolled myself in school. it starts next week. can't do full time unless it's a third shift and go to school- i registered really late so all the night clases are gone. so i may have to put that on hold. but if i get hired at the pony i'm confident i can make ends meet. i have an interview tomorrow at this modeling agency for a part time clerical position.

Just from your posts u seem to be pretty hard on yourself. You havent been stripping all that long have u? U need to settle into it, work out how u hustle etc.

I didn't start making steady money til about a year into dancing. By this im talking about money i attributed to myself - not when the club was dead.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

People usually bank when they first start dancing. You're fresh meat, aren't jaded to the industry yet, etc. etc.

On the flipside, you started dancing in the summer, which is a traditionally slow period. What you're making right now *might* not be indicative of your earning potential.

Things pick back up in fall, so I'd give it another month or two.

If it's worthwhile, you'll see a decent (if not drastic) increase in your $.

If that happens, it's wise to reinvest $ back into dancing - costumes, makeup, hair, whatever. You need to be willing (and financially able) to run the trial/error risk of finding out what looks will and won't make you $. You'd be surprised what little things can make a big difference, $wise!

And of course the psychological end of things is a continual learning process. Always be willing to learn, evolve, and adapt.

If nothing gets better for you in the busier season though, it's time to move on.

Most has already been said. Every club has a different hustle to it, and I've found it takes a solid three or so months at any club to learn that club's specific hustle. Going to the new club may not be the answer to your problems. You're actually adding the challenge of learning a new club when this time of year is already challenging enough.

Then again... I could also just tell you to say fuck it and do the new club. Life's an adventure and you could be really happy there and just click with the environment.

Good luck to you at the new place, I hope it works out for you. In all honesty, hang in there for the next few weeks. Money has been okay here in Austin, I've had good and bad nights but it tends to be kind of crappy right around this time with kids going back to school and vacations before school starts as mentioned above. End of August/beginning of September should kick off the "good season".

^thanks. i hope they hire me. this is a place where certain people have to worry about those sort of things. *sigh* but i'm hopeful. honestly if i can make my rent and provide for my daughter this month i'd be fine. of course i want extra so i can buy new clothes(i lost a lot of weight while i was pregnant) but the basics have priority.

Interesting. We're usually busy in the month of August. I guess different regions have different slow times.
