If you are easily offended, DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE.
If on the other hand you can enjoy comedy for what it is, a break from reality, this is one of the funniest movies since Superbad.

And wasn't Robert beyond crazy? His ad libs were crazy! I wanted to see him joust with Alpa and Ben's character more though. Their chemistry was funny!! And Tobey Maguire!! CRAZY!

Clearly the actors had fun with this film. Even Tom Cruise who I have not often thought much of, was kick ass in his part. I get the feeling Ben and the producers made a decision to let the actors do their thing, take risks, and see what happens.

Yeah, he was on Charlie Rose and said he had the dialogue written yet once he saw the suggestions and ad-libs of Cruise and Downey especially, he loved them and let the run wild with it. It was Tom's idea to be bald and have big hands and I think that smarmy sex dance was his idea too.Poor Katie!

lol i loooooved tropic thunder!
I liked the movie, but I'm kind of unclear why. It wasn't stellar, but I've seen far worse and it was definitely funny at times. Ironman made the movie and the movie clips in the intro were crazy as hell. Hey, I actually thought Zohan was funny so you could see where my humors is at...
It's a must see for the non-sensitive movie goers.

OMG, I'm not the onlyy one who loved Zohan!! I looovvved that movie! I think you liked Tropic Thunder because it was fun. It wasn't trying to be anything huge, it was just trying to keep you laughing.

I feel very relieved that I'm not the only one to like Zohan. I got every joke in the movie and never laughed that hard since Superbad. I didn't find it offensive and over-the-top and have recommended it to friends, but they come back to me pissed as hell saying I owe them. Such is life!

All i can say is i saw the movie and wow, it is funny as hell. totally recommend it.

I saw it the 1st day it came out and actually went to see it again today. I was laughing my ass through the whole movie. Robert Downey Jr. was hilarious. Its definetely on my list of favorite movies now.
I either really
like stupid movies (Harold and kumar) or just find it a
waste of the movie ticket price (zohan except for the neosporin bomb; meet the Spartans.) I thought tropic thunder was really well written like a modernized satire in the form of movies like hot shots.
in context, I didnt think that the "full retard" line
was over the top because the context it was in was a smart
comment about why the majority of people can't relate to mentally
handicapped people-- but when there are fictional characters in movies
who don't go "full retard" the audience can relate and sympathize with
the alternative viewpoint of the mentally handicapped.
same with the black commentary-- there were several
different levels, the booty sweat singer (and his sex life),
tom cruise's character, and the Aussie acting as an over the top
black person.
I thought it was a really good balance between the
low brow humor and well written satire. I was pleasantly
surprised

I haven't seen it, but it knocked The Dark Knight out of it's number 1 spot finally.
