I hope all works out for you.
On the truck, make sure the cables from the alternator are connected. It could need the terminals (on the battery) cleaned. It could be the alternator. Or the battery could be so bad it's not holding a charge.
Mazda. water maybe. How is the air filter? Check for wetness/ water damage. Or maybe the water from the rain is a coincidence.
What was the Subaru doing?

Truck just got a brand new alternator. I guess it might be bad?
Mazda's filter is fine. Dunno what's up; belts or tensioner pulleys might be out of whack.
Subaru will start very weakly, shudder/act like it's low on fuel, and then just die. It also has no power...I floor it and it goes nowhere and dies.

Ugh.
Well, if it's any small consolation, most hospitals will cut a break on your bill if you talk to the financial assistance department....& I always say being alive with some medical debt beats being dead by a longshot.
I'll be thinking about you. PS The battery might have a leak ( a crack in the casing.)

Bad alternators can make bad batteries.
On the Sub, what did it do when 'it went bad' the first time. How did it run prior? Did you notice white steam from the engine? Was there a 'blowing' sound and then the symptoms? When it is runnung, is white 'smoke' coming from the exhaust pipe?
There may be other reasons, but what you describe happened to my old t-bird when I blew a head gasket, and just before it hydro-locked. .

Intermittent problems are the worst.
Spark delivery system problems would not allow the fuel to ignite 'fully'.
Maybe 'sometimes' a wires breaks contact. Wires to/ from distributor, ignition coil, etc., and follow them, in case of break. And wires to/ from fuel pump (assuming it's electrical).
Awww WifeletI am so sorry that your day was such a disaster!
I'm going to repeat what Bianca said, though, and emphasize that your health is more important than your money. I mean, money's important, but not more so than kidneys. As with any hospital bills, so long as you are demonstrating an effort to pay, you will not be reported to collections. Medical debts also never accrue interest. So if this means paying $5/week to the ER for the rest of your natural life, so be it. It's a pain in the ass, but it's not that bad. And anyway, they got to the root of the problem before it got worse, so be thankful for the fact that your kidneys were spared. I'm thankful for it, because they're your kidneys.
Drought was over. Where was I? Drinks were on the house.
For mixers, my love, you'd poured--what?--even the rain.
sorry to hear that.
My friend had to go the ER a few months back with some weird pain in her stomach and the hospital ran all kinds of tests... only to not really tell her much and hit her with a huge bill a few weeks later. So she called them... cried and told them she had no money so they gave her a huge discount.
good luck :-)

I just found out my lover will only be my summer fling. His contract expires in two weeks up he will be over-seas during that time. I might see him one more time this week, but after that POOF! He's gone. I'm so stunned. I want to cry but I can't. I probably will after he leaves.
