    Default Music at your club

I hate the music at my club. We dont even have a DJ!! it's just a computer with a play list and it plays thru the list about 5 times a night. i even know which song to except next. the owner only allows pop too! arrrgggh i loathe pop. I want to dance to rock. even sexy rnb with bass would be better.

we dont get to choose our music when we are on podium either.

i think good music makes me dance a lot better. if im doing a private dance and a great song comes on i really get into it.

i think music is one of the most important things in a SC yet it's neglected at my club.

What's it like at your club??

Wow, that sucks. We choose our own music and so 75% of the music played is chosen by the girls so it's quite diverse.

God, my club is 'suppsed' to do this Classic Rock music all the time. Like 80's shit, it's ridiculous.

On the days though, we cheat because management doesn't come in until much later so... We can dance to pretty much anything we want then. But the Classic Rock thing... Our DJ got his ass reamed last night for playing that Duffy song. I'm like, seriously??

My club exists in the twilight zone.

Wow that sucks, I feel for you. Music is so so important to me at work, I think one of my favourite parts of the job is choosing my tunes.

I wouldn't be able to work there! My club has a computer system where we pick our own songs before we go up onstage. We can bring in CDs & upload them to the system.

Bascially I get to play whatever I want...

We have a lot of "rules" on music too. We can choose our own (I don't), but if you DO pick your own, it can't be rap (or even Pop if it contains anything that might be seen by an old fogey as "rap").

No real hard rock - Nickleback is about as hard as we can go. MAYBE old Metallica. Some techno....mostly light pop, classic and 80s rock...Sometimes I wish I worked in a club that played rap (my genre of choice).

Of course, I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to dance to it....LOL. For now, I'll stick with my assigned and very-safe Britney.

^ I can imagine you dancing to Britney. I'm a rap girl too, but I dance to techno/Britney stuff at work too because if I play rap it makes me want to dance like I'm at a nightclub.

We get to pick our own msic at work and they're pretty cool about all genres but just not too hardcore rap or too much vulgar cussing. There is the occasional girl that plays country or something awful and the customers will even ask if we can wait until the next song to do a dance because country sucks so bad

One Saturday night I was on the VIP stage dancing and there were a lot of people back there so I could have gotten a potentially good client but the girl on main stage played... get ready for this... "cotton eyed joe". I highly doubt I looked sexy dancing on stage to that.

lmaoooo. cotton eyed joe??? was this girl serious? I can just imagine a girl trying to dance sexy to that.

I like the music at my club... we get to tell the dj what kind of music we like... they say no hip hop but they still play some mainstream rap. I've heard them play naked hustle once at my club... I loved it! :-)

no rap, no to most top 40.
rock, classic rock, 80's, techno and a small amount of country are the only music allowed.

Your club isn't the only one.

The great majority of the time I am surprised if I can choose my music! So when I do, I'm stumped! Now I have a few songs that seem to work that I feel every DJ will have in their play list.

Actually, I think I'm a better 'dancer' overall for the fact that I've hardly ever been able to choose my own music. It has given the skill to be able to literally dance to any type of song that is played and make it 'look' good.

In the end, if I'm doing my 'job' properly... it's background noise. The customer won't notice it unless it is something like cotton eyed joe ... hahaha

Thats so strange. Do customers notice? At my club we can play anything we want as long as the dj has it. On the bright side you don't have to tip a dj right?

At one club, I had to compulsory tip the DJ even tho' he didn't do anything for me specifically to help me make money... this club is also a percentage club (they take a cut from every dance) so they would also take this 'tip' out of the first dance I sold.

    So......... not necessarily.

Granted, "tipping the DJ" when it is a computer is a little ludicrous

actually, i think some clubs try to cater to a specific crowd with the music, but at babes we pick our music which means i hear a lot of "bet if i suck on that pussy that'll get you wet." and babes tries to cater to men 40-60 and they don't wanna hear that. however, the music does influence the dancers. and happy dancers make for happy custies.

At all the clubs I book at we can play whatever we want. Some clubs have a DJ, and they will program our playlists of choice into the library, and at others we have a jukebox, and we can play whatever has been downloaded on there or download what we want.

I work at smaller rural clubs so they are more lax. In major cities it is quite obvious how racist the owners are, and how racist they perceive their targeted customer base is, as many of the better clubs are very nervous about playing black music with a few exceptions.

Damn a computer!? That really sucks! I hate it when the dj plays the same song twice I can't imagine 5x or more! We pick our own music and it can be practically anything. Some girls dance to one genre (me!), specific songs the dj has, or bring in their own music. I dance to rock-alternative mostly. I don't dance to hip-hop/rap because I feel white-as-fuck lol...there are some serious booty shakers at my club and I'm not one of them! Plus rock matches my dancing style better....reaaaallly slow and sensual

God that blows. I dance like shit when I'm listening to something I hate.

We have a DJ who announces us and will choose our music if we don't care what we dance to.

Other than that, we have total control over what we dance to (for our respective stage sets--around 10 minutes per girl). It fucking rocks.

We have a DJ and can dance to whatever we like. Mgmt is pretty relaxed at my club, but there is a club in my area that does not allow any rap/and won't even play R&B, it will only play rock/country and some techno. There is another club that limits the amount of rap/country/r&b that will be played, like 1-2 rap songs an hour or something.

    shhhhhh!

    yes.

and i feel the same way about sucking onstage. the only trick i do is flipping my hair around. i've been told it looks good, so i'm set.

tbh, if chris would just burn me a cd of horrible songs he wants to make me dance to, so i could at least learn how they go, i could deal with that. i think i'm gonna ask.
