    Kitty question

My kitty is now about 3 months old and ever since we got her (around 6 weeks old) she suckles and kneads on the throw blanket on the couch. I know cats knead things, but is her suckling normal? It's the blanket I'm using in my siggy picture and we've even nicknamed it her "mommy blanket".

Yup, perfectly normal. The neading mimicks the breast and the sucking mimicks the breastfeeding.

She only does it to that one blanket though.. nothing else. I guess it'll just have to be her "blankie"

Yes its like its her mom's teat giving her the reminder of being with her mom. The only concern is that if the threads come off possibly causing her to choke on them.

My cousins cat did this her whole life.

6 weeks is too young to be taken away from her mother so this is her way of compensating for it.

That's what I thought.. we didn't take her that young by choice. The people we got her from took in her mom as a stray and her mom was incredibly sick and ended up dying about a week after we got the kitten. Sad story, and I would have preferred her to stay with her mom longer but it just wasn't possible.
