Default First Stripper Thought. . .

I thought it would be fun to find out when was the first time you realized what stripping was and your thoughts that you could do it.

For me I forget how old I was but I came home from school one day and Jerry Springer was, if that is any kind of time table I am 19 now. It was some episode that had a stripper fighting with her twin sister on how she stole her boyfriend after he found out she was striping; typical Springer. Anyways the stripper twin made it clear that she wonted to dance for as long as she could. Which caught my attention for I was really into dance by then. But she got up from her chair and just started dancing around the stage and her cloths started to fall off and before long she was topless. What really caught my attention was the reaction from the crowd and the look on the peoples faces. After that I just could not stop thinking about the possibilities when I got older.

I got the idea to strip after seeing talking to my friend and seeing how she was making enough to drive a benz. :-)

I'm sure I had kind of thought about it before, but when it really hit me was when I was 17. I was reading Jenna Jamesons How to Make Love Like a Porn Star. Reading about her dancing and hustling guys made me think "wow I could so be very very god at that, and have a blast". I already liked being naked and was pretty aware of my sexual power as a pretty girl. Two years later, I started stripping.

It was another boring week night and I had two friends in town from out of state. We were walking around, looking for something to do. We walk past the Doll House in Miami and two older men standing outside of it start talking to us. Turns out they were the owners and brought us in to the club and told our waitress we could have anything we wanted. We were all under 21, so we could only have sodas but whatever lol. I watched the girls dance and thought to myself, hmm, I bet with practice, I could do that too. Sure beats waitressing.

i couldn't get a decent paying job and the prospect of not paying of debt as quickly as planned stressed me out. i entertained the idea in my head and found SW and the next week i talked to a manager and got hired.

i've entertained the idea of dancing since i was sixteen or seventeen. it just seemed so sexy and empowering. i've always had self esteem issues too, so i think the idea that i could be paid to be naked and considered beautiful was really reassuring to me.

i started dancing a year and a half ago, after i became friends with a dancer and she told me how much she made. my first night i made $250 in six hours and was hooked. i wish the money was still that good all the time, what with the economy having gone to shit, but i certainly do not regret my decision.
"If she wants to dance and drink all night, well there's no one that can stop her. She's going til the house lights come up or her stomach spills onto the floor. This night is gonna end when we're damn well ready for it to be over, worked all week long, and now the music is playing on our time. Yeah we do what we do to get by, and then we need a release!" - Against Me!, "Thrash Unreal"

Omg...no joke...this is EXACTLY what put the idea into my head, too!!

Soon after reading the book, I rear-ended someone parked in my driveway (he didn't bring insurance into it, luckily), and I had to give him ALL of the money I'd been working hard to save. I had wanted to buy a DSLR camera. After that, I was like "Fuck this $6.00/hour shit..."

The second I moved into my apartment for college after turning 18, I was off to the local SC.

I was in like 1st grade when I first started playing pretend "I'm the stripper driving in my bmw" on the play ground. I've always known what a stripper was and it was always something I HAD to do....Now all I need is my BMW and my childhood dreams are complete. lol

I wanted to be a stripper when I was really young. My guess is I got the idea from a random Lifetime movie or something on TV.

When i moved away to another state, i figured it was the best time to try it out. The first club i went to wasn't intimidating at all. The girls looked kind of pasty and while they were cute - none were really hot.

The second club i visited was full of hot girls and I knew i wanted to work there so I asked and got hired on the spot. It's funny how I was never nervous. I guess I've always had body confidence or something.

TALKING to the guys was a different thing. I've always been comfortable dancing and being physical. But please don't ask me to get verbal. I speak well but I'm SHY. Fortunately i come accross as friendly and not shy but sometimes quiet.

For me it was when Rent the movie came out. Mimi inspired me, she was so sexy. Chicago too kinda. And Cabaret. Okay, I'm a nerd for musicals

There was a movie and i think it was call Chatanooga Choo Choo? I saw it once and these girls were in a box car, there was a peephole and boys were watching them undress(not sure if they knew or it was for $$ or what). I remember thinking "i wanna do that when i grow up", i was verry young and for like weeks after i would layer on coats and shirts and strip off the layers(down to my regular clothes) for my brothers friends(while they "secretly peeked") for a quarter.

ETA: I found a pic of the movie and it was those girls at the bottom that inspired me, lol. I cant believe i remember that.

I watched an HBO "America Undercover" documentry on strippers. (Does anyone remember this???). I was a teen, so it must have been in the 90's). I taped it off the TV, and watched it 100 times.

I WISH I could still get a copy of it...I'd love to watch it again.

They profiled 2 newbies trying to dance at "Platinum" in FL......one feature dancer named Maya Divine, and one "old" stripper (40+), trying to get hired in Vegas. Her name was Avalon.

    Update:

    I found it!!

Anyone have any idea where I could look to find a copy of this?? I tried Amazon.com, but no luck

I REALLY wanna see it again!

Honeslty I don't remember how old I was when I found out what stripping was, I'd say middle school, around 13 or 14. And all I knew then it was girls who dance on a stage and take their clothes off.

I had no idea of about how much money one could make. I just figured it was slutty girls who took their clothes off for minimum wage.

It wasn't until... about 19 that I realized it was very, rewarding job.

I have to confess when I first found out what a stripper does I was put off by it and found it to be rather sexist. Partly because of my parents, they are a little on the prudish side. But when I found out how much money you can make and simple just how stupid men can be I changed my mind. If I was not so close to home and busy during college I would have started stripping earlier. I have only been dancing for about a month or so and I am enjoying it for a part time job.

i was full of preconceived notions. growing up in a catholic outfit, all i knew was that 'stripping was bad' (gross, dirty, for skanks, losers, druggos etc).

i didn't know what would make someone become a stripper.

i went overseas and worked in a club but not dancing. they asked me if i wanted to dance for $X guaranteed, so i did it.

all my preconceived notions disappeared and i met some of the coolest people i've ever known.

little did i know it becomes a part of who you are, it was never who you were to start with.

I'm not really sure, it sort of gradually built up. I didn't realize it was decent money until I actually went to a club though. I wrote more about it in the "1st experience in adult industry" thread.

I was 18 when I first saw the movie "Closer." First thought was NO WAY could I ever get naked in front of anyone but my boyfriend!

Then I thought about it... and thought about it... and went online... and found Stripperweb! I think Stripperweb sealed the deal for me. It helped me realize that strippers were not mythical creatures with enormous breasts, but ordinary women of whom I could become one.

That scene between Natalie Portman and Clive Owen started it all, though.
