FUCKING restless leg syndrome that usually lasts a few minutes once a year is now lasting all night for days. I'M DYING HERE I cant sleep and I'm twitching all night
I dont want to take YET another pill...any ideas?

Thanks...I already do (or dont do as the case may be) those things. I've been pacing like crazy and running in place. I havent slept right in days ...it took a crapload of my sleep meds to get down last night and I dont like to do that. I"ve never had it hit more then once or twice a year...no less day after day after day.
This SUCKS.
I used to get up and run some hot water and soak my lower legs. Really helped me, but I have no idea why it worked.
Don't Laugh! This sound too weird but.... My Massage Therapist told me for some reason putting a bar of soap in bed with you can help. They think it ha something to do with lye which is used on making soap. The bar of soap should be close to you but does not have to be touching you and it cannot be a beauty soap just regular soap. Potassium deficiency can contribute to restless legs so eating bananas helps, also tonic water Schweps if you can find it contains Quinine which is supposed to help. If you can afford it I highly recommend Massage Therapy and Massage Therapists in general. Good Luck
Dr. Gott (in the newspaper) recommends the bar of soap too, now that you mention it! He doesn't understand why it works, but he's gotten thousands of testimonials saying that it does, and since it doesn't hurt anything he says you might as well try it. I think you just put a bar of cheap regular soap under the fitted sheet and leave it there.

I'm probably going to get shot down in flames for this, but smoking a bit of pot helps me, when a few vodkas don't. Not advocating it, but it helps me when nothing else does.
You seem to be on a lot of meds though, so maybe they would interfere.

i had restless legs something fierce when i was pregnant. the only thing that really helped was downward facing dog (that's yoga, not doggie... )
just increase the stretch each day and hang round in downward dog as long as you can. even better if you can do a whole yoga dvd.

I do yoga so maybe that does help. I didnt have it last night so hopefully this is over for now. I only get it every few months so I dont want anything drastic..I'll try the soap...cant hurt! My mom had it too...maybe it is genetic?
My back has been screwed up bad lately which is prob whats causing it this time. Seems to happen when I dance a lot(just got back from a work trip) and screw up my back....yet another reason I dont want to dance full time anymore!!
