I swear I saw one going down a storm water drain a few weeks back. There was a baby one on I-75, looked like it wanted a ride to Tampa.

Glad everyone survived the storm water. Glad it was just that.

I need to rethink that amphibious mode for my car.

I'm not exaggerating. I lived on the edge of a nature preserve.
holy shit. you are special. i've lived here my whole life and i never have seen lots and lots of dolphins and turtles, cat things or sharks. not to mention a panther!
that is a hell of alot of wild life in a short time.

I lived out in the middle of nowhere right on the strip of land that the panthers live in- and I went to the beach a lot and would go really far out. I was so crazy- i had no fear. i just watched a video of an aerial view of a beach and there are sharks EVERYWHERE and people don't even know!!

The pains that have burned me and scarred my soul, it was worth it, for having been allowed to walk where I've walked, which was to hell on earth, heaven on earth, back again, into, under, far in between, through it, in it, and above."

I know right!! I've never seen a wild panther...I would die of happiness!!! I have seen bald eagles...there were a few nesting nearby last year...havent seen them this year.

Seen a few snakes and had a HUGE skink on my patio one day!! He was so freakin' cool....I had no idea there were skinks around here! He was gorgeous...took me about 20 minutes to catch him so I could release him outside the screen.

I've never seen wild dolphins or sharks here, but I dont go to the beach very often. I would, but I hate to go alone....maybe iseestars will go with me now that we realized we live like 2 streets away from each other!!!

Keira....where did you see that aerial view? Online? If so do you have a link...I'd love to see it!!

I adore the Curly Tailed Lizards that my new apartment complex has. Cant find em anywhere else in this area. Nifty.

Snakes that have a TRIANGLE shaped head are USUALLY the poisonous ones. Rattler, water moccasin and so forth..

If you see a snake, ANYWHERE near you - walk/get away slowly. Then run like hell when you get out of striking distance. When it rains like this the things are looking for higher ground and are not looking to stalk humans. They're just trying not to drown.

Most snake venom attacks the nervous system and if your bitten - do your best to stay calm, because the more you freak out the faster your heart pumps the poison through your system. GET TO A HOSPITAL as SOON as you can.

A tourniquet helps to slow the spread of the poison through human anatomy until you can get to hospital.

...as I was saying FL is the critter state. It would be interesting if one knew what these things were and their capabilities.

Around here we see white-tailed deer (too many), squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, badgers, a few non-poisonous snakes, a bunch of different bird types (lots of migrating ones), a lot of insects, and a very occasional moose. Oh and a lot of fresh-water fish, including eels. In the mountains black bear if they don't see you first, and wolves (making a comeback), and coyotees. Basically whatever can survive the winter snows.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

It looks like the pic Paige posted is a Northern Curly-tailed Lizard....introduced to the area from the Bahamas. It is sold in the pet trade, so I'm guessing it isnt venomous.
